Went to Coloane from Macau peninsular by bus, buses are frequent but try to avoid peak hours coz there's construction nearby that you can hardly get a bus stop by when it's full. We got the freshly baked Portuguese egg tart & it's super yummy that I easily had 3 of them and regretted later that I didn't buy more.... More

A visit to MACAU is not complete without the bus ride down to Coloane to the original bakery. We had a fabulous meal in the area and then popped into the bakery to purchase our desert. We sat under a tree and tucked into the warm, delicious tarts and thought about Lord Stow. It made a great ending to a... More

I wanted to go to the original bakery. It was a long bus ride from Taipa (we had lunch there first). I think it would have been better to take the taxi there. There was a line there but the line goes fast. We got a dozen egg tarts that were still warm with a flaky, crispy shell. It was... More

It says on the window that this is the very first store that introduce the Portuguese egg tart by Lord Stow. Take a bus down to Coloane downtown and this place is only 2 minutes walk away, I went on a Thursday afternoon and it wasn't crowded. Egg tart is HKD$8 each, not expensive at all.

It was definitely worth heading to the other end of Macau to grab some egg tarts from the best. So much so that I scoffed down half a dozen of them and grabbed another half dozen to go. My visit to Margaret's Cafe e Nata the following day proved that the gulf between the two big hitters is still very... More

Best dessert I have ever had. The Portuguese egg tarts are absolutely divine, the crust is buttery & flaky and the filling is rich & creamy. They also have a cafe down the road from the bakery. Lovely area to be in as well, loads of small restaurants and lively atmosphere. Would love to go back to Macau just for... More

The Portuguese Tarts that I ever eat was buying in KFC. I know KFC also using their formula and produce the Portuguese Tarts. It was strongly recommended by my friend to try it and it was so delicious until two of us finished 6 pieces. But we learn that we have to buy the freshly bake one. Because the freshly... More

Lord Stow's Portuguese egg tart has become my new must have when in Macau. The crust is light and flaky and the fillings has the right level of richness. Just a bite and I fell in love with this little tartlet. There are 2 Lord Stow cafes near their bakery in Coloane. We had lunch and breakfast there on 2... More

Another place that pulls in the tourists for what is considered a Macao specialty, the egg tart. I've friends that go there for the sandwiches all the time. Others for the egg tarts. I have even bought boxes of the things for friends and colleagues who I know live them. Personally I myself don't care for them but to each... More
