Nice Chinese Restaurant

This is a good, nice Chinese restaurant away from the crowds that take away the enjoyment of having a good meal in good company. The menu is diversified, with the Cantonese cuisine making the most of recipes. The ambiance is nice, chic, confortable. The service was somehow lazy the last time I went... read more

What a great place. It's a steal for dim sum. Innovative takes on dim sum and creative plating. The staff is knowledgeable and are happy to explain the dishes and how to enjoy them best. 5 point for this 3 star Michelin restaurant.

So pretty dimsum to eat. Service of the staff was great. While the flavor was a little plain.

During my last trip to Hong Kong and Macau my wife and I ate at three 3* Michelin restaurants for lunch. The Eight was memorable for offering excellent dim sum, with interesting displays that made usual dim sum slightly more interesting, for example the goldfish you see mentioned here regularly. Overall the eight was good value, being a little over... More

Our hotel concierge recommended The Eight to us, and having read the recent reviews, I was very excited to try this 3 star institution. We had: Prawn dumplings in the shape of a fish Xiao long bao Cha Siu buns (pan fried) Roast suckling pig with rice Roast pigeon Food was delicately prepared and service was great. The roast pig... We came here for dim sum and were blown away. The photos on here show you how amazing the food looks but not how great it tastes. Best dim sum I have ever had. Go with the recommendations of the staff!! The other fantastic thing is the value given that it is a top restaurant . Less than £50 for... More

After looking through the dim sum menu and the main course menu, we (my wife and myself) realised that we might have to come back numerous times to explore the entire menu. To begin with, they have really have a lot of interesting dim sum items and dishes that you don't get in a typical dim sum restaurant. We ordered... More

in the grand lisboa hotel, the 8 restaurant brings dim sum to new heights. this hotel amazes me with their F&B bringing in the best chefs. They cannot do wrong. The 8 serves dim sum. Amazing decor in a large restaurant but well designed so that it is intimate and quiet. The food was delicate and very fine. Your hau... More

The presentation of dim sums are great. Very cute. Taste is good. However, lunch is a little rush. Perhaps it's because they serve two rounds. Waitresses might be a little pushy but that's not their fault.

Of particular note was the char siew cheong fun which had salted vegetable in it, giving it a unique flavour. Also, the crispy skin char siew pau in porcupine shape was lovely. The chicken in the claypot rice was too salty and although the flavour of the Chinese sausage was excellent, I felt that the flavours didn't permeate into the... More
