Good experience nice food

We had 3 dishes - the Portuguese fried rice, suckling pig and cold sardines. The Portuguese fried rice was quite similar to the Chinese fried rice but had a richer taste, with the chorizo sausage. Quite tasty. The cold sardines dish was appetizing. The star was the suckling pig, really nice... read more

Went to Macao for a day trip with my wife and daughter... decided to give it a try on Manuel's restaurant as we were missing some good Portuguese food - could not get luckier! One of the best "pastel de bacalhau" (bolinho de bacalhau / cod fish cake) we've tried! Followed by two types of Cod dishes (grilled & "Sá")...... More

We accidentally stumbled upon this place while walking through Macau on a day trip. PROS -food and the place had a fairly authentic charm -we ordered some sort of rice sea medley and the bean stew. There was barely any seafood in it and the bean stew could have used some flavour/salt. The pork in the stew was also exceptionally... More

Many of the dishes were superb! I had a wonderful experience with good company and a tranquil atmosphere! I would recommend this establishment to any of my friends, family or colleagues! I travel quite a bit and this was one of the best restaurants I have been too. The deserts are house made and full of rich flavor! I tried... More

We went with a group of over 30 and booked the entire restaurant on Chinese New Years day. Compared to other restaurants in Macau this one seems to be bent on serving the lowest quality food and smallest portions to extract as most profit from each dish. The fried rice had very little Portuguese sausage and shrimp. The octopus salad... More

If you like me, went because you were curious at how good the food was, then here are a few things you should know. The food is good, no doubt about it, but the service was of such level that will effect your enjoyment of food. From pushing the most expensive thing on the menu, to getting the order wrong... More

I have discontinued my visits to O Manel. Not so much because of the food but mostly because i am always under the impression that if you don't order enough food (and spend enough money) the level of sympathy irradiating from the owner drops abruptly. The food itself is very authentic and i wouldn't advise a visitor against it. The... More

We were recommended this restuarant and it didn't disappoint. Small, crowded, noisy and all that but overwhelmingly coney and friendly. We ordered the squid kebabs with chorizo (cooked perfectly), the suckling pig (beautiful) and the home made dessert which was a burnt caramel pannacotta type thing (very, very good). Washed down with 1/2 litre of house white (a little rough,... More

O-Manel is a lovely local Macanese restaurant at the top of one of the nicest streets in Taipa. Once twice the size, it is now a small intimate restaurant that squeezes in about 40 people at tops. If you find it, you've found a local gem. While you might bump chairs with the neighbouring table, the restaurant has a nice... More

I wrote a review of this restaurant here a few years ago. I had the pleasure of having lunch here with a group of friends again very recently. The food was generally as good as I've always found it. In fact, we had had lunch at O Santos the previous day (see my review) and although the food at O... More
