As a spaniard myself i was very pleasantly surprised with this place. They have a good menu and the food provided (we had 2 fish dishes) was super nice. We will come back and try their paella some other time. Not very often can one find such a nice place at the beach broadwalk! Recommended!

This starter is like nothing I have ever sampled in England; a carpaccio of shellfish, sliced transparently and dressed with monkfish caviar. Even their rivals say how good it is. It is a gourmet dish well worth the 13 euro price-tag, plus their signature paellas normally for two persons, which they obligingly made for a solo customer... what more can... More

We visited El Caldero for dinner as we had walked past a few times and i was attracted to the good selection of seafood available. We shared the smoked octopus to start with and my partner had steak and i had duck with mango sauce. The food was delicious, however there was no vegetables served with it, just potatoes. We... More

Recommended to try by the receptionist at our resort. Had the paella, it was good but lacking on some if the more expensive items I.e we had two prawns!!! Waiter lacked the personality but service was good. Prices slightly high for the area it was good but could do better.

Take the position and ambiance of cafe de mogan and the chefs, food and waiting staff of El caldero and you have the best restaurant in town. Great foie gras for starter, confit duck was good but a bit too much apricot sauce which is quite sweet and takes over a little and some vegetables wouldn't go a miss but... More

Wow! So many different types of paella to choose from. We decided on a mixed paella with green beans. It didn't disappoint. As we had to wait half an hour for it to be cooked we were given fresh bread and alioli followed by an amuse bouche for free. Both gorgeous. The portion size for the paella was huge too.... More

Amazing smoked octopus dish, great paellas and wonderful staff. They even cooked our 4 year old pasta when she asked for it, as it is not on their menu. We ended up eating here most days!

On reflection we should have chosen the paella as that seems to be the restaurant's signature dish. Tricky as it's a dish we do not like. We had prawns with garlic, chorizo and peppers as a shared starter. It was good but the chorizo was not the best. For mains my husband had confit duck which came with lovely sautéed... More
