Excellent food and service once again!

This is the first time I have written a review . I have visited El Ancla usually each night of my stay over the past seven years. I visit Tenerife twice a year. El Ancla has changed over the years, now with new menus and a refurbished restaurant. However the quality of the food, service and the... read more

Had a meal here last weekend. The restaurant itself does not have much atmosphere to be honest. We had fish of the day, which was very nice, and came with some Canarian potatoes, but no vegetables or salad.

Always had amazing food here, but last night was just amazing! The fillet steak in port and green pepper sauce, cooked to perfection, was simply Devine! The service was friendly and excellent. If you eat a finer steak than at this restaurant then I'd like to know about it!

Visited twice in September and back again and its still as good. Good food cooked while you wait and friendly staff all at a reasonable cost. Cannot go wrong here. Visited twice again this time and will call again next time we are in Calleo

The quality of restaurants in Tenerife is surprisingly good, and this is the best of the lot. On three recent trips this was the highlight. The secret is good local ingredients and dedicated family cooking - not exactly complicated but not easy to find. We had the 30-euro shared fish platter on our first visit this time - beautifully cooked... More

I had been here before 3 years ago and the meal had been very good so we hoped it had maintained its high standard - it had. The group of 6 shared the goats cheese and Camembert starters which were generous and tasty and some warm crusty bread with alioli and mojo sauce. These went down a treat. The steak... More

Tasty food. Good stuff! Small enough portions. The steak is worth eating! For desert the crepe can't be missed!

Very friendly, the duck-breast is somthing of the best ever. Cosy enviroment inside. But not the cheapest - if you choose a less costly dish you might have a just average experience. But I will be back next year for another duck-breast !!

Situated at the end of the road leading down to the beach at Callao Salvaje you could easily pass this restaurant by with its unassuming exterior & plain decor. Passing would be a big mistake if you were after fabulous freshly cooked food at the highest possible standered. Paco the head chef and proprietor has a simple but interesting menu... More
