Don't know where to begin with this, the entire experience was so enjoyable. We only had time to enjoy dinner with Moreno and Rosella. We felt like honored guests in an Italian relative's kitchen (in this charming 500 year old building!) Moreno (owner, chef, server, chauffer) kept bringing us food to try, in addition to what we had ordered. His... More

My husband and I spent our first day in Como taking the cooking class with Moreno. What a spectacular day! Moreno is the best host and we felt like we were in his home - he is so gracious and kind. We learned so much and could not even finish all the food he gave us - everything was delicious!... More

The owner picked my friends and I up at our hotel in Varenna. The meal was excellent and the owner/driver/chef/waiter (he wears many hats) was very attentive. The prices were amazing - 25 Euro for a full five course Italian meal (drinks not included). Almost a year later, I still crave the risotto with pears and mushrooms...Moreno is an excellent... More

On our 10 day trip to Milan, Como and Switzerland, this was one of the most memorable days of our trip. We signed up for the cooking class hosted by the owner Moreno himself. We were picked up promptly at 10am as promised at the Varenna ferry and driven up to Il Caminetto. The restaurant is situated in a quaint... More

We stayed at the B&B so ate here a few times during our short visit. The food was amazing, homemade, and original. Even if I ordered a dish that sounded a bit strange, it was always extremely tasty. The prices are also great, you cannot find any nice restaurant in town for anywhere near the same price. I would recommend... More

Just back from a short trip to Lake Como, staying in Bellano. Dinner at Il Caminetto for the third time and if anything, just gets better. Moreno is a wonderful Chef but is also much more than that - a great host, raconteur, and teacher about local food and wine. He and his wife just create a fab experience. His... More

This was the best dinner of our trip. Homemade pastas - fish ravioli - were outstanding. Very authentic feel, out of the way restaurant. Located in hills above Varenna, so need a car. Highly recommend!

We loved the hospitality, the welcome, the attention our son received - special plates, cups and legos! We felt like we were at somebody's house. After dinner the owner, the chef took us to our villa Michela where we invited in by just candles and melodies! LOVELY

We were staying in Bellano and wanted an authentic experience. This is the place. The owner is wonderfully engaging and the meal was superb. We drove to the restaurant ourselves (the shortcut from Bellano) -- that's a bit scary! But well worth the trip. The meal was also very well-priced. We had the fixed price meal, tailored to our liking,... More
