This hard to find gem lived up to its billing when my partner and I visited. We parked were others recommended, walked straight down the road, until it turned gravel and followed it up and up. Other way, up the stairs, it harder to find, but a good way to go down. The menu is fixed, so just set back... More

As a part of our motorcycle tour around Europe, one of our stops was the Moto Guzzi museum in Mandello del Lario. We found a great new B&B as well and asked the proprietor if there was anywhere local to get some dinner. She said there was a local place that we may like, and she could check if they... More

I read all the other reviews so I had decided we had to find this restaurant. However, we'd gotten lost trying to find our hotel and my husband was not enthusiastic about yet another expedition or adventure. I insisted. First (despite having a GPS voice assist) we got lost finding the cemetary in Somana. So prospective guests need to find... More

It was a very nice moment we spent with Marcello doing waitress this evening. It is an experience ! The major drawback : the place is very difficult to find. I will put some récent pictures. But in case you are lost, the easier is to ask a neighbour, italian you may cross like us on the road which will... More

Where to start. First, La Selvaggia is extremely difficult to find. Having been I still don't believe I could give decent directions. There are no signs in the village from where you have to find the path! When you do find the right path it is a 15 minute, fairly steep climb up stone step pathway. In fact we hiked... More

Visited there in September 2013. We got 9 people and difficulties to get taxi there. Angela arranged us an great boy to pick us from near village and get us there. After 10 minutes walk we were there and the meal started with bread and wine. Everything was perfect. There were one German couple and we from Finland. One hour... More

So we'd read the reviews and knew to park at the cemetery and had then expected a short walk to food heaven. Nearly an hour later we happily bumped into another lost couple, who were Italian and were able to phone the restaurant to get some more directions. After a short hike, we were there. Perched on the top of... More

Yes it is a bit of a walk. Palk by the cemetery and up you go. Setting is perfect overlooking lago di como. The food and wine is just brought to you, no menu. Hams, mushrooms, caramelised onions, roast beef, lamb with salsa Verde, roast lamb, a block of cheese, coffee's, grappa. Amazing service, perfect atmosphere, glorious in all ways.... More

We really enjoyed this dining experience. It is a fixed menu. Food was all delicious, abundant and genuine. Wine kept flowing. The location is unforgettable. It is not easy to find but worth the effort. The hosts are so nice, after a few minutes it felt like we are dining amongst friends. And the grandpa, he is such a great... More

This is my favorite haunt in Mandello. I take all our visitors who always love it. My friends from Chicago wanted to go back every evening!
