Hidden Gem

As per a lot of the other reviews, we were wandering around and happened to come across this restaurant. The food was delicious, and the polenta an absolute delight. Great food, great find. Would recommend if in the area.

Our hotel recommended some place to eat. I saw their touristy menu and knew better to walk a bit more and look further down for something authentic and special. La Trattoria was simply it! A simple straightforward menu with local fare. All is delicious! A must visit. No frills but the real deal! Tried their two pasta dishes (simply yummy)... More

We just by chance found this restaurant by wandering around - it was a lovely setting - nice and quiet - not touristy- the food was outstanding - one of our best lunches out of the whole nine days- my only regret is we didn't order seconds - the linguine with mushrooms and ravioli were wonderful

We stumbled across this place along a narrow alley and up some stairs, and were so glad we did. The little terrace (about 7 tables) was busy but quiet and our waiter looked very laid back but kept everything flowing very efficiently. The food included lots of lovely seasonal mushrooms, which we tried in pasta and risotto dishes. It was... More

This restaurant's terrace and its location in the charming village of Brunate was probably the nicest one we experienced in our vacation. We had ravioli, beef tartar and cheese polenta. The food was ok but not as good as the atmosphere. Worth of visiting.

We stayed in Como and had read about this trattoria on Trip Advisor. You have to take the funicular up from Como and it is a short walk into the centre of Brunate to find it, but it is worth the making the effort. Anti pasti that include salami and pecorino and bresaola served with mushrooms preserved in oil were... More

This place is a little gem. Peaceful location away from the usual tourist haunts. I couldn't stop raving about the Stracotto and polenta!

This place is a gem located down a few flights of cobblestone stairs in the historic center of Brunate. While it doesn't overlook the lake, it's got a wisteria-covered outdoor seating area that looks out on the mountains. Quiet, peaceful, and a welcome retreat from the crowds on Lake Como. Beyond the location, the food here is top quality and... More

Everything was very good. They had the best Ravioli and service was very good. I love this place. But it could be nicer with some background music.

We found this quite by chance after two recommonded restaurants were closed. We arrived late for lunch but were welcomed. We explained that 4 of us, two from england and two from Australia, wanted to taste some different food so would order four dishes. Our host said no problem and proceeded to serve 4 individual servings of polenta followed by... More
