Service overkill - poor food quality

We have visited this place many times in the past as a family, and it has always been special to us. Seemingly under new management, it now has raised its image and spent heavily on upgrading its facility, at the expense of its food quality. If you go to eat "filets de perches" (perch filets) you... read more

The restaurant sits on the water's edge of Lake Geneva, so the view is stunning. The specialty of the house is perch, prepared several different ways. I had perch grilled with lemon sauce, and my husband the lightly fried version. The portions are generous, and it comes with a large amount a fries and a nice green salad. The food... More

Beautiful setting, decided to have a coffee after walking around Yvoire. Prepared to pay for the setting and view, but coffee was shocking. 11 euros for 2 coffees.....would not be writing this if the coffee was ok, but the milk was scalded and coffee was weak, the only taste being the sprinkled chocolate on top and the burnt milk. They... More

We visited this restaurant last weekend with our 7-month daughter. We took a seat in a table, which was free, in the front row. A waitress came and cleaned the table and a second waiter collected the money left by the previous guests. 5 minutes later, a rude tall waiter came and asked us to leave this table because it... It is an amazing view, can't beat it on a sunny day, truly stunning. Service was good, friendly, very prompt, perhaps a little too quick if you just want to sit back and enjoy it all. Food very expensive and boring. You can find this food/menu from any restaurant in town. We had beef carpaccio to start, 4 or 5... More

Three of us took the fera filet which did come in peaces instead of a full filet, a bit disapointed and not much to eat actually. My Partner ordered the filet de perche with fries, however the meslun salad supposed to be served with it never came. Very poor service, the waitress took the order of 3 desserts without waiting... There sere two restaurants at the port in Yvoire. We tried to eat at the Hotel du Port first since it looks nicer. There were no available tables in the terrace so we decided to try Jules Verne. Not disappointed at all! Great food and service.

First you dress up. Then you show up. Then you go up & up... Reservation was for 8:30 and it was the perfect time to see the Lights of Paris. The service was attentive and edgy. The menu was just diverse enough but it could have supported more offerings for beef and lamb. The vegetables were well prepared. The wine... More

Masses of greasy fries and salad on the same plate with a 200g steak. Over priced for very bad food. Disjointed service with waiter who could not open a bottle of wine. Food was plonked on the table. Waste of time and money.

The food was good, but the service very slow. We had two tables of both 4 and we ordered at the same time... while one table finished their food, the other one still did not have any... not even bread. We also had to wait long time before we got the drinks we ordered and even the bill took long.... More
