Good food, good value, warm ambiance

The pub was reccomended to us by a local B&B. We arrived at 9pm to a packed place with no table availability, but a warm welcome. After waiting for sometime we were invited to share a table. We thought we knew Somerset pretty well but we had never been to this pub before. What an oversight! The food was delicious, the beer was kept well, the atmosphere cosy and the staff were great with customers. It was a wet blustery day so being inside with a crackling fire on the go felt absolutely perfect. Not sure that... More

Sitting in the front garden on a warm day is the choice of many customers, I know what you are saying about the road but it seems to melt away when conversation takes over. We are so pleased you found us and that you found 'inside' so pleasurable. Do join us again. More

This place was busy! Staff polite and attentive. The ale and cider selection were great and on regular rotation. The atmosphere was jovial with a good mix of locals and holiday makers in (defo a pub don't expect restaraunt atmosphere it's not what they're going for). The building is quaint and folksy. But the food? The food is really something... More

A quiet little pub..........nope - a busy, happy pub filled with locals and visitors alike. Real suntrap garden and cool interior - just what was needed today. Good job we'd booked for lunch as it was busy. Four of us all chose to have the roast beef, which came with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, cabbage, carrots and cauliflower cheese. Not... More

Went with friends today, and were greeted by very friendly polite staff. What a superb range of Real Ales, rarely seen in todays world of gassey ales and lagers. The food was reasonably priced, and when it arrived excellent value for money. If in the area give this wonderful quaint pub a try, whether for the excellent service, Ales or... More

Seems to be the only place in Langport area to serve a late lunch. But once we arrived we were so happy the others were closed! This is a pub how all pubs should be. Like real ale? This is the pub for you. Warning: food portions are massive! We're hoping to move to Somerset soon and very much hope... More

This is one of those places which you don't come across very often in life. A pub which serves food rather than a restaurant but a place where there is always a welcoming face and a wide selection of beers. I am not an ale drinker myself but my father thinks that this place is ideal for anyone who drinks... More
