Lovely, friendly pub! Arranged to meet friends here as we all live in different parts of the country, and was glad that we met there! For a Friday lunchtime it was very busy, which was great to see. The service was really good, and the food even better! Shame it wasn't closer to where we were staying as we would... More

If you like blaring music, stupid pub games, having to shout to one another as its to noisy and over enthusiastic bar staff. You won't like this place...... This is what a pub should be. Good beer, great food and a relaxed atmosphere , wether your in the garden on a lovely warm evening or relaxing infront if a big... More

Good old fashioned proper pub. Great ales and ciders. Super pub grub, home cooked and plenty of it from a good choice of menu. Big log fires, low beams and flagstone floors. Friendly staff and good if sometimes noisy atmosphere. (Only because it is so popular it gets very busy) great for kids too as a big, safe garden and... More

Went in for lunch today and it was lovely. Monday lunch time in November and busy, which makes for great atmosphere. Fire going, excellent choice of real ales, which was our reason for going and not disappointed with choice. Lovely food and friendly people. A right proper pub !

I love this pub ! Only problem is working out what to eat and drink because it's all wonderful. Local Somerset food and drink with some curries etc. Today I had a good glass of red wine with quiche salad and twice fried big hand made chips with mayo. Food came after a few min's with a big smile. Sat... More

Terrific food, local produce and real pub atmosphere - cant fault it in any way at all. Not often you can find a pint of prawns but it does them here and its great

has it changed hands? feeble menu, long delay, bought in chips, not at all what it used to be, will it still be here in 6 months?

We at the Halfway are disappointed you were unhappy with your visit to us the other day (Sunday?). We are always keen to improve our service and have noted your disatisfaction. In response to your questions the pub changed hands six years ago, the chips are the same as when the pub became a real ale house 20+ years ago... More

.......we shouldn't have ordered curry in an old English pub! Two curries were very disappointing even though they were highly recommended but the fish and chips were excellent. Just made the wrong choice on the menu everything else was fine

Fabulous little place. Very understated and you would look twice at it from outside, however don't drive past go in. It's a little gem with great cask ales, local ciders, friendly staff and amazing food.
