I don't usually write reviews but I think that this place deserves a good review from me. For such a simple dish the ham egg and chips I had here was simply perfect and the chips possibly the best I have ever tasted and then washed down with some very refreshing Cornish lager (Korev) Prices are very good so overall... The barn owl is under new ownership. The owners Nicky and Richard are really nice and nothing is too much trouble. We had a sit down meal for 35 people for my mums 70th birthday party. We held it in the function room. They allowed us to decorate it as we pleased. The meal was lovely and all of our... More

Enjoyed a pleasant Sunday lunch with JazzBand, playing new owners are creating a nice ambience - just a shame that the lamb was not from a freshly roasted joint but presumably bought in as pre packaged slices !

Many thanks for your time to put a review on here after your visit with us on Sunday and we are please you enjoyed the live jazz. I just want to let you know that our lamb, as is all our meat, is brought in fresh from the butchers and cooked on our premises before being sliced. It is carved... More

The exceptional service I received was the first thing I should note about this place. The young lady who served me was v. friendly and personable, made our experience eating out feel very relaxed and like we were welcome. Food was delicious, we ordered the shellfish medley and me not being a great fish eater was pleasantly surprised! Would definitely... More

First thing to note that this pub is not in Langport but is found some 4 miles to the west in the hamlet of Westport. Its quite a big pub laid out with dining tables but when we went on a Tuesday in November it was practically deserted which was a shame as the food was better than average for... More

A group of six called in here for a very late lunch on a Saturday. The pub is very attractively presented and the Ladies was well above average for a pub of this type. Food service was quite slow but as we were talking together this was not an issue for us. Everyone seemed satisfied with their food, which was... More

After reading reviews before visiting the pub I expected much more. And in fact have come to the conclusion that these reviews are completely deluded. The building itself was gorgeous, a classic pub! The menu sounded great, what came out was not. Food failed to live upto the price paid. Pudding was average, everything bought in for sure. Service was... More

This pub has come under new management and really deserves the custom. I feel this pub has probably had a bad reputation in the past but I really can't fault the pub now. Really lovely food, quick service and lovely staff.
