Reasonable Pub Food

Four friends, three different meals from a new menu... All good. Prices reasonable, service fine, atmosphere pleasant -- we'd go again. Hubby said his bacon and liver pie was good. I enjoyed a Brie and Chorizo stack with tomato sauce-- simple but tasty, served with "a nice pint."

Having had an awful experience elsewhere we stumbled across the lime Kiln whilst in search of food! This place is a must! The service was exemplary, the food was fantastic, and they did their utmost to ensure that we had a good time. Would come back to this little gem again and again!

Excellent food, and lovely friendly service...would highly recommend! I had a sirloin steak which was cooked exactly how I asked and my other half was going to just have a cheese burger but was challenged to having a stack burger....it was huge and he managed it!! All was fantastic :)

Booked a table for 14 adults, 1 child and 1 baby. Service was fast, friendly and without error. Everyone got exactly what they ordered and the food was fabulous. Steaks cooked as requested and to perfection (We do find that a lot of chefs cannot distinguish between rare and well done - but the chef at the Lime Kiln has... More

We visited during the week and were impressed by the friendly welcome and new menu - now within a booklet with the addition of a separate Special selection. There is good variety and, as a vegetarian, plenty of choices. The food was served quickly and we were impressed with both quality and quantity - home-made lasagne instead of the predictable... Have been coming here for 30 years , unfortunately will not bother again under new Management not impressed , food over done for 3 of us out of 6 tasteless , small portion not small and curried beans not a good sized portion , the waiters looked like Weatherspoon's left overs , although pleasant and polite , didn't make up... Go for lunch here with my sister every three weeks food was lovely as usual. Been going to the lime kiln for years and when the new owners took over was a bit worried things would change and they have for the better. Lovely and tasty food very good choice on the menu, the desserts are as if they are... More

Have visited here many times and have never had a bad meal. We took family there for Sunday lunch, safe in the knowledge that we would have a friendly welcome and a hearty ,home cooked meal and we weren't disappointed. A lovely country pub with a varied menu.

There were far too many choices for the food to be good. Five of us chose between fish, burgers, and curry. The food was mundane, tasteless and disappointing. Portions too large and emphasis definitely on quantity with no adherence to taste.

A bit dubious as change of ownership and a few negative reviews were evident on here. No need to worry though, we both enjoyed chicken breasts with bacon and cheese, it was hot, tasty and good value. Will continue to frequent The Lime Kiln for sure.
