Great quality pub food in fantastic period surroundings

We have been trying to eat at this pub since we moved to the area, and they have always been fully booked. When we finally were able to get in we weren't disappointed. Lovely pub food with plenty of choice and specials. Great value for money and tastey food.

The staff were very friendly and attentive, and the pub itself had a lovely atmosphere. The menu is very varied, with a lot of choice and reasonable prices. Sadly, I was a little disappointed with my meal, I'm sorry to say. When I started eating, I discovered that it wasn't chicken breast, but instead chicken pieces. The cheese on top... More

Came here a few weeks ago for an evening meal with my mother and sister. We weren't sure what to expect as we knew it had changed management and reviews had been mixed. But we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The food was very good and the bar and table service was friendly, attentive and not intrusive. We will definitely be... More

Booked a table for 20 last Sunday. The restaurants was on the ball and advised us to preorder. On the day it all went well and everything that was ordered arrived. Food was hot, fresh and a great quality. Plenty of veg for the Sunday roasts. Meet was tender and roast potatoes crispy. Dessert was a pleasure. I had the... More

We have frequently visited the Lime Kiln which has seen some ups and downs recently. However I'm pleased to say our visit today showed that it is back to the top of its game. Great menu, tasty food, good portions with masses of vegetables, excellent service and highly competitive pricing. The ambience is warm and welcoming, desserts traditional and modern... More

In the past, this pub was absolutely awful. But we had heard it was under new management and so we decided to try it. Thoroughly impressed comes to mind. The place was comfortable, busy, and a good menu. Reasonable pricing and some unusual dishes, done well, all contributed to a lovely evening. Service was prompt and genuine, and this is... More

I visited this pub for the first time last night with my two elderly (84 years old) parents, my teenage daughter and my 8 year old girl. My mother is blind, my father has dementia and heart failure. If I had taken note of some of the poor (bitter), reviews on here, I would never have visited The Lime Kiln... More
