Room for improvement on service

We have visited the Lime Kiln for many years, however whilst the quality of the food remains very high, the standard of service has deteriorated somewhat. Waiting too long for cutlery and condiments after meals have been served is frustrating. Enjoyed the beers on offer, especially the Otter Ale.

Food came quickly with large portions. Being a Sunday the menu was on the board with the Sunday roast being the focus. We however had other dishes (Ham, egg and chips and three way chicken. All very filling and arrived swiftly.

Food was delicious, staff very friendly, atmosphere nice, all food a good price, what more can you ask for!! I ate here with a group on a Thursday evening, pub was fairly busy so recommend booking. Food was great quality and decent portions. I will certainly be returning!!

The Limekiln is much more of a restaurant than a pub these days. Good if you're looking for a large, relatively inexpensive meal, and would be a good choice for a large group as has a sizeable dining room. Menu is typical pub grub. Not a great choice of real ale; try The Halfway House in Pitney if you're looking... More

Unfortunately, our previous experience of the Limekiln a couple of years ago resulted in rather damning report on this hostelry thanks to one exceptionally rude staff member and a non-customer friendly system of ordering. We decide to give it another go in the hopes that the management had taken note of the many complaints not only from ourselves but others.... More

We stopped off here on our way to Taunton, fancied a nice pint and a bit of lunch. Great lunch and sandwich menu reasonably priced, had a Sausage sandwich which was not only big with about 3 sausages but with salad and the most lovely delicious chunky chips, yummy. Its quite a large venue with big restaurant area & I... More

We have been eating here fairly regularly for years. Came for a mid week lunch on the off chance. Vast choice , all looked great. Opted for stack burger. Very good indeed...just too much! Beat us both sadly so couldn't squeeze in a dessert. Perhaps some smaller portions could be offered , we have never asked so it may be... More

We've visited this pub a few times and always had good service and excellent food- portions are always huge! Lovely pub would recommend.

My wife and I went for the first time this evening. We had a brilliant welcome. The menu was great with lots of choice. The specials board just adds to this. The bar has a good selection of ales as well as larger and cider. Service was good and friendly without being over the top. The food itself was lovely.... More

Lovely pub, food was prepared quickly and served piping hot! I had the liver and onions and my husband a ribeye steak. Perfectly cooked. I have been here a couple of times and I can also recommend the steak and kidney pie. Just so tasty...
