I was in this place about 5 times, every time food was a real disappointment. Cooked without any love, passion or creativeness, they use a lot of ready and canned stuff. Last visit I had day salad with baked champignons - sounds good for a hot summer day? It was a mixture of cabbage, carrots, salad leaves and 5(!) not... More

We visited here during the Brunenfest. The beer, as you would expect, was excellent although when we went to purchase some small kegs of their festival beer they had run out!! The food was typical German fare and we shared a meat platter (more than enough for two) and we would thoroughly recommend the Sunday bruch (sets you up for... More

Well, I think Rodger (reviewer below) must have got the Brauhaus on a very off day. We´ve eaten there a number of times and have always found the food, beer and service absolutely first-class. Recommended.

This is why german food has the reputation it does, cheap food, piled on your plate. Shop bought salad, hard potatoes. Food came out within 5 minutes of being ordered - obviously individually prepared especially for us... not. it annoys me to pay good money for such dreadful food. Go for a drink by all means but if you want... More

We visited the Alt Brauhaus more than once and all it was worth it! We had every kind of beer and desserts. The service was excellent and the girls really friendly and welcoming! If you go taste the meat variety for 4 people! Great choice, in a great price and even a better taste! Try also the dark smoked beer!... More

We really enjoyed the food. The parking was a challenge especially for non-German speakers but we figured it out. They make their own beer and the pilsner we chose was terrific. Will return when we relocate in a month or so.

Had the family platter and it was a fine selection of meats, sausages, potatoes and great sauerkraut. Platter was supposed to feed four, but we ended up taking more than half home - could have easily fed six or more. Added local pilsners, red cabbage, potato leek soup (5+ stars) and the crepe desert - everything was fresh, well prepared... More

There were 7 of us and the food was very good. I like a good German Liver dumpling soup and there's was excellent a must try if you like liver. I talked two others into the soup who had never had a liver soup and they liked it. We all liked the dishes we had. The Apple strudel was a... More

This is a Bavarian beer garden type of place, built in the 18th century, with a great courtyard and de rigeur chestnut tree for warmer summer days. The restaurant and bar indoors is on three levels - basement (vaulted brick walls), ground floor (front row view of the copper vats in which they brew their own beer), and upstairs with... More
