La Gamba is probably the most elegant of restaurants in Palamos. We've been here many times. The sangria is very good and it has a good selection of single malt whiskies. We enjoyed the sopa de pescado and the gazpacho was excellent. The tuna was great but the grilled fish was bland. What a pity! The chocolate cake was a... More

The restaurant is close to the Fishery Museum and the water front. We arrived a bit early and was greeted politely by the staff to ask us to return a bit later as they are not yet opened for lunch. We did return later, and the staff was very nice to us. We ordered the paella, and it was not... More

I can't say anything bad about La Gamba. It has been serving Palamos tourists and locals for a long time and enough people like it. I find it pretty good but not overwhelming in any way. The problem here is that it's a traditional Spanish restaurant from an age where that is all there was.Since then, a lot of young... More

Varied menu though a little pricey. Delicious, quality food, attentive service once the meal was underway but rather slow to take our order and didn't come and take a drink order first.

We chose the chef's choice menu for a birthday celebration and were highly impressed with every single course: well-balanced and imaginative. The quality and the freshness of the fish was among the best we've had in Caralonia (and we are here for part of every year). The service was friendly and professional and the outdoor terrace provided a lovely setting... More

Nicely positioned restaurant at the port of Palamos; good food, nice wines; only the service could be much better. Fortunately the food is excellent! Price OK

La Gamba is right along the very busy Palamos waterfront. Parking is available in a pay lot directly across from the restaurant. I went early (8pm) on a Saturday night w/ reservation--but, they were badly organized & had no idea what to do with me. The air conditioning in the enclosed dining room had not been turned on--so it was... More

OK this is not a cheapest restaurant in the town, it's the kind of place where we would go for a treat, we could have had a cheaper meal, there are plenty of places where a set lunch inc. wine and coffee can be around 12 Euros but we thought we'd splash out - the whole experience was good from... In this restaurant you have to try two things: firstly the gambas de palamos and secondly the langosta - absolutely amazing. the gambas were the best ive ever had eaten! but the restaurant is pretty expensive.

La Gamba was recommended to us by a local Spaniard, saying it was the best restaurant in Palamos. We only went to two restaurants in Palamos, so can't vouch for that, but La Gamba was very good indeed. We visited on a Monday evening, when most other restaurants in Palamos were virtually empty, La Gamba was very busy, mainly with... More
