The Lake is accessed down a long gravel pathway and there are marked disabled parking spaces. The cafe is easy to reach from these but there is some gravel. You must enter via the front door as the side door had a step and unsuitable for wheelchairs. Tables were easy to access but purchasing food was more difficult. The floors... More

iInitially I thought £8.50 was a little pricey for breakfast but when it came, I realised why. There was a pot of tea with a pot of hot water too, 2 slices of toast with butter, 3 slices of bacon, 1 enormous sausage, a piece of black pudding, FOUR eggs, mushrooms and beans AND it was wonderful

Was curious to visit, after the mixed reviews on Trip Advisor. It's just half a mile from the A41, and just over a mile from Whitchurch (Shropshire) and ideal if you're on a long journey and need a calming break. We both had Lynn's chilli, which was tasty and, at £6.50, I thought good value. Nice to see that they... More

Popped in for lunch on a very dull, dreary November afternoon. The cafe was nearly empty yet we were not welcomed or shown to a table. We ordered food, more later, from the counter. The person who served us was pleasant enough when she decided to acknowledge, the young lady who brought our food to the table was a delight.... More

My friends and I have become quite regular visitors to Dearnford, partly for the open water swimming but, in truth, mostly for the lunch afterwards! We've always been welcomed with a smile (and an occasional "you're mad for going swimming in the lake") and have always found the food to be delicious. We particularly enjoy the gluten free brownies! It... More

LinJ228's review of this attraction makes a big issue about the requirement to keep dogs on leads and resents this restriction. But dogs can be a problem and risk to other users. We visit Dearnford quite often. Delightful place and a stroll round the lake is very pleasant. A good, equipped, play area is provided for children. The site is... More
