Loved this pub we had a fab meal, the roast beef was one of the best I had! We arrived on a Sunday without a booked and they close the kitchen at 3 pm which we didn't know. It was 3.15pm they checked with the chef and we're happy to continue serving for us. Staff really helpful highly recommend. Only... More

Everything a good pub should be. Well kept, interesting, local real ales. Great food at fair prices. The home made soup is always very good. My only slight quibble is that the menu rarely changes. I wished that one or two specials were put on so that I could ring the changes. Otherwise, fantastic.

Visited here on 'Black Friday' busiest night in December when pubs are usually full of revellers with no consumption limit! Here with group from the local marina for Christmas meal. Service was excellent, given there looked to be only 3 front of house staff for the bar and restaurant combined. All meals were served in good time, piping hot, well... More

If anyone wants a good pub meal in Whitchurch this is the place to eat. A group of us have eaten here on many occasions and never been disappointed. The atmosphere of this old world pub just adds to the wonderful food we have always been served. Every item on the menu seems to have that bit of something extra... More

Let me be honest: I'm a good cook and a fussy f@cker and I'm also really rather skint these days, so I don't like going out for dinner and getting something that (if I were that way inclined) I could get from Iceland (or similar) for a couple of quid. I've worked both behind a bar and in senior management... More
