Very nice

We had cake and coffee in the tea room and it was very nice. I had Bara Brith which was delicious and I was very impressed as my husband has to follow a gluten free diet and he had a gluten free hot cross bun. We sat outside and enjoyed our cake but you could sit inside if you wanted... read more

The tea rooms at Cholmondeley Castle are in a very pleasant location with space to sit and enjoy this grand old bit of England, either out in the sun, in shade or indoors. The food is good, wholesome and freshly prepared and the menu is fairly basic. It offers a fair product for a reasonable price. We visited on a... More

Thanks Ollerbarrow for the review, we are glad you enjoyed your visit. We do get busy and as all food is prepared fresh, sometimes it can get a little busy in peak periods, but we do our best to get our guests served as quick as we can. I hope we see you again soon! Jenny More

Excellent food well presented and obviously home made. Jenny and her team catered for our coach trip of 39 members over two siitings and everything was perfect. The tea rooms may be a little small but Jenny and her team were very efficient as they not only had our caoch trip but another one and independent travellers. Well done Castle tea... More

We really enjoyed the castle and grounds, and the gardens were well worth a visit. Nice home made cake in the cafe

After walking through the gardens and perhaps going up Tower Hill to take in the view, a visit to the tea room is the the perfect reward. Best Bara Brith in the world!! Always a warm friendly greeting, sit inside or, if you have your four legged friend, sit outside and breathe in the atmosphere. Go visit.

We are sorry that you did not enjoy your visit - we do our best as a family business to ensure everything is right for our diners, and certainly we always throw away damaged crockery. Since 2012 we have invested in new seating both inside and outside and the tea room and catering facilities have been extended to allow us... More

Food is exceptionally good, and very tasty. Watch out for specials not mentioned on the menu. Service is very friendly too. Drinks are also splendid. We enjoyed the hot chocolate, which was lovely - I always think this a good test of a cafe as many cut back on the amount of chocolate to reduce costs! They don't do that... More

We recently visited Cholmondeley Castle, and the grounds and gardens are quite spectacular, and we finished with lunch in the tearooms, where nothing was too much trouble, and the ice cream and apple pie was to die for. Clean toilets everywhere and plenty of parking, an old chapel in the grounds, and lots of very large fish in the lake... More
