Time for a paella detox!

Usually I'm vegetarian but when I go to Spain I throw it out the window and eat loads of fish. On this visit I overdid the fish and was dying for good quality vegetarian food. We waited around the corner in the pool bar for this place to open at 6pm, so we had a fierce appetite on us by... read more

As an ardent Vegan I was excited to eat at the Booming Cactus. Unfortunately the experience as a whole was disappointing. The selection and quality of food was poor. The falafel were burnt to a crisp, the rice was sticky and hard and the curry was runny. I had a stomache all night afterwards. The truth is that I ate... More

Our second visit to Lanzarote gave us the opportunity of a second visit to The Blooming Cactus. The food was as delicious as we remembered and the welcome as warm. It has a real intimate, cosy, relaxed atmosphere. I am a vegetarian and rarely find anywhere that does veggie food as good as my home cooking. The Blooming Cactus is... More

Previous reviewer on 11th March sayes it all, we're not vegetarian but this is good wholesome delicious food. We were in Puerto del Carmen for 2weeks, and ate here for three evenings, enjoyed it immensely the ambiance, music, service and of course the food. The mixture of vegitables and flavours that Tracy adds to her dishes is indeed a winning... More

We came here two years ago and this year we have already been twice. Vegetarian or not, the food is simply good. Lovely front room atmosphere and attentive service. The background music will bring back memories too! No credit cards here but great value for your money.

I visited Lanzarote with my Mum who is vegetarian (I am not), we ate at this lovely, relaxing and laid back place 4 nights of the 7 night holiday. We tried everything on the fantastic sharing menu and nothing disappointed. The moussaka is particularly gorgeous! A must visit for everybody!

Absolutely fantastic food - particularly the falafel which was lighter and fluffier than i knew falafel could be! Neither of us are vegetarians or have special dietary requirements but i was impressed by the variety of delicious tapas that was available for those who need to go gluten free. I wish this place was closer to home - i would... More

We've visited Lanzarote on and off for the past 4 years and on each occasion had enjoyed dining out. We came across this restaurant (The Blooming Cactus) after a walk through the old town area of Puerto del Carmen a few years ago - but it was closed... (always closed Mondays) ... This time we got it right (it was... More
