I have been to this cafe a couple of times before when visiting family in Retford. This morning my husband and I had a breakfast bagel with scrambled egg and bacon. The food was very good, the price very reasonable and the staff friendly. Ok, the surroundings are not luxurious, but perfectly pleasant. If they were luxurious you would of... More

First time I've been into Retford centre and decided to go for a coffee. From the outside the place looks lovely. I went upstairs i realised the place needs a lick of paint to say the least. Ordered a £2.50 chocolate milkshake and when it was brought to me by the unenthusiastic staff i was shocked to see it was... More

While I do agree that the decor could do with a bit of an update everything else about this cafe is superb The food staff and outdoor area are wonderful especially on a summers day. I usually get the breakfast which is just the right size and while I'm not a fan of scrambled egg the other people I go... More

Been here lots because the food is always lovely and the waitresses are friendly. I prefer to sit out side as the inside is in dire need of redecoration. I would recommend the home made soups and the chicken club sandwich is fab.

Inside is a little tired, but I had a lovely lunch sat outside, great attentive service and a clean ground floor baby change.

All I can say is in all the years I have been visiting this lovely café, foremost in my comments is the staff go out of their way to be so friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble, especially with senior citizens and young children, they are so nice. I have visited this café weekly for many years... More

Couldn't go in our usual place for breakfast, so tried the Kiwi, never again. Went upstairs, didn't take long to realise that the place was in need of a makeover. Not only do the walls need a paint but they were also filthy. Carpet was very old, and stained, Crockery was tired and very old fashioned. Service was by non... More

Went for lunch and all I can say is that it's absolutely filthy. Needs to be closed and re painted and new everything before we will visit again that's for sure

We found a really good review of this cafe in our local paper so we decided to give it a go. The staff were very friendly and welcoming upon arrival and there was plenty of choice for hot and cold drinks as well as many tempting cakes muffins etc. The menu looked very good with nice selections. We stayed for... More

A big family party (we did book tables) the food was home cooked, fresh and hot, plus the prompt and friendly service was superb. Not sure why some reviewers describe it as pricey - omelette with 2 fillings was £2 cheaper than two similar establishments in Retford, coffee was cheaper, in fact superb value all round. The outside area is... More
