Birthday lunch

Very quiet lunch time only 8 or so people in. Excellent fish pie with fresh veg. Mother had garlic chicken with salad. Vanilla chessecake was enough for two of us. very pleasant lunch. Will definetely go again.

I had a smoked salmon and prawn salad and my wife had fish and chips. Both were nicely presented and tasted good. Generous portions.Overall a lot better than the average pub meal. Total cost including a coke and J2O was 25.70. Good value.

Six of us booked a table here for dinner on Saturday evening. Hardly any customers when we arrived and very few when we left at about 9:30 p.m. The starters were delicious, especially the crab ravioli. Three of us had rump steak which wasn't so good. Various sizes of meat both in thickness and overall size. One had to be... More

Simply the best Sunday lunch we've had anywhere! Three delicious courses. Pink, tender beef with home-made Yorkshire pudding, posted and fresh vegetables. Just perfect! Booked for next Sunday already!

Visited for dinner on a Saturday evening. Absolutely freezing cold dining room, where we were left alone during the inexcusably long wait for our meal - 4o minutes from being seated at the table - with no-one even appearing to check if we wanted drinks etc; untrained and apparently completely inexperienced staff (though they were pleasant and polite); and indifferent... The outside of this village pub is nothing special, and neither is the entrance (looks like you are walking in through the front door of a house) but the food is superb! The menu doesn't have a huge choice nor could I see a vegetarian choice but all of our meals were piping hot, beautifully presented and most importantly, really... More

The menu is modest but what the inn produces, is of high quality, well cooked and thoughtfully presented. The staff are helpful and anxious to please. However not being a "local" there is nothing especially notable about The Wellington, and my experience today would not encourage me to go out of my way to revisit it again - nevertheless it... Just enjoyed a lovely weekend away with friends, culminating in the best Sunday roast I've had in a long time. Very reasonably priced, a good selection of staters, mains & puddings and the food was served piping hot. We particularly loved the generous portions after our weekend exertions! A big thanks to all the staff - they couldn't have been... More

Not the most salubrious a places. The entrance is rather soiled by smelling the chemicals from the toilets in passing, and then one has to fight ones way through the bar, but my oh my it's worth it. We have only been there for a Sunday lunch but we will be going back again for dinner soon. The lunch starters... More
