Had a lovely meal here stopping on our way through to Dunedin. Tasty entrées of seafood chowder and duck confit croquettes followed by succulent chicken breast and chilli prawn salad. The salad was also an entree but enough for me with the croquettes to feel satisfied. They had live music from Jenny Mitchell who has won several accolades for her... More

What an asset to the community! As a local there is only one place where Both I and many of my associates and family members choose to eat and that is at this restaurant-pub food is not what you will find here-thank you!! Food is always delicious, excellent wine and beer selection at great prices and service is friendly and... More

Make no mistake this is a lovely building, historic and has had a lot of money spent on it. The ambience is lovely, décor very smart and really well done. Menu was extensive but really quite expensive, much more of a special event venue than a 'pop in for a beer and a meal' place. Pint of Heineken at $10.50... More

Incredible venue with luxury decoration ( specially considering the reality of soroundings farms) Food is inconsistant ( sometimes even the fish and chips is terrible, specially linch times are not recomended) service is terrible there were at least five tables for one waitress.plates are overpriced ( very small portions) the fire was off (how sad to have all that luxury... Had a crap day with some network configurations, not helped by having to delay dinner due to this. Was finally able to have the Lamb Rack with mashed potatoes - honestly one of the best dinners I have had in a long time! Staff were great too, will definitely be back :)

Thomas Green proved a perfect venue for a mid-winter business meeting. The real log fire was a special treat. The most pleasant surprise was the food. An innovative menu of excellently executed dishes ... well done Thomas Green!

Out walking on Mother's Day & stopped with a group which included children. It was very busy but we could sit outside - tho of course that is also the smoking area & you may have to put up with smoke.

Spent two weeks fishing in Gore and this was so nice to sit back and relax after a great meal when we had been out on the river all day. Great decor, meals are great, though a light eaters meal would help, and a great range of Scottish and Irish malt whiskeys. Lovely, cheery waitresses always with a smile. Stuart... More
