Good Place in Gore

There were a number of appetizing looking ideas on the menu but we just settled for the good ol' kiwi shark and fatties (fish and chips) which were better than average. Saw a good atmosphere, the staff guys = helpful, and the overall value quite good. May pop in again "thanks".

Very pleasant surprise to find this gem during a stop over. We had seafood pasta (cod, salmon and mussels) and seafood chower! Both tasted really good

We had a family celebration at the Thomas Green. The food was very good overall, with excellent presentation. The venison shanks could have done with a bit more slow cooking, but were still tasty, but the pork belly and fish & chips were cooked very nicely. The service was fast & friendly as well. The wine list was good and... More

After reading the reviews I thought we were in for a rocky time. However, the ambience has been achieved well with a pretty good fit out of the interior. The place was crowded and the waitresses seemed to be getting things done. Though not overly friendly at first they did get warmer the more we smiled. Maybe that's the answer?!

We had one lunch and two dinners at Thomas Green while in Gore. The food was delicious with a good selection of beers and wines, however the lunch portion could have been larger. It was a great place to relax and enjoy a beer, before dinner. The decor presents extremely well providing a very welcoming feel as you enter. Staff... More

We had a steak, with a glass of wine and a coffee. An average range in the menu. The steak was rare as requested. Coffee very good. Service a bit slow. Well presented restaurant. It would be overall the best in Gore. Heartland might give you a run for your money. Definitely swish though.

We waited 1.5 hours for our dinner, my chicken arrived pipping hot and my partners steak was warm at best, taste was average. Last night we went out for tea and the other good places in town were full up so instead of going here....we went to MacDonald's for a Big Mac and McChicken, I see they are advertising for... More

We dine quite often here. Great food, professional service, nice decor! One of the best in the entire region.

This is a wonderful venue with atrocious service. Most locals tend to only use the bar as it is a nice place for a drink - they rightfully avoid the dining.
