We ate here on our first night in Otley, after trying to get somewhere for fish & chips. My other half had a starter - the pate, and said it was really good. I had the fish & chips, he had the sausage & mash. Both v filling meals & the sausages were really tasty. The pub was quite lively,... More

I have just read some of the other reviews, and judging by them The Fleece must have 2 sets of staff.(chef) My wife and I plus 2 friends ate there today and as it happens we all had the fish & chips. The fish itself was fine but the batter was soggy and as for the chips & peas they... More

The interior of the pub is nice but the standout is the tiered garden area extending down to the Wharfe River (safely fenced, of course). It was a great place to go and enjoy a local cask beer or cider (Rosie's!) and let the kids run amok in the grass :) The food was very decent, especially their burger special.

We went there on 05-08-2014, as a party of four, designer food on square plates, meat was overcooked, veg was sparse & food messed up by the chef, crushed new potatoes ?????? Leave them as new potatoes, Once the food was on our table, we were not asked if it was OK, nor asked if we wanted a dessert. Sack... More

We have visited this pub a few times and always been impressed by the friendly staff and good food. However, we arrived last night and had to wait quite a while to be served a drink at the bar. The pub was full and there only appeared to be a lad who was run off his feet trying to serve... More

Pleasant and very inviting setting, with a great beer garden located to the rear, the service was ver exceptional but the food was absolutely superb and very high quality without breaking the bank. I would by far recommend the Patté, without a doubt the nicest i have tasted and that bed of salad with sweet potato crisps was so good!... More

Have eaten here many times since it opened. It used to serve consistently good to excellent food. 3 of us went to eat there on Thursday evening - very limited menu now and every meal was overcooked, the chips were soggy and overcooked, the salmon fillet on bubble and squeak was dry and crunchy - balanced on top of a... Had a night without our daughter and had been meaning to visit The Fleece for ages. We were not disappointed! The main course was lovely - southern fried chicken burger which was actually a whole chicken fillet in a bun! The southern fried coating was a little spicy for me but my husband said it was not a problem. Desserts... More
