Visited Otley today, 3 seniors. in our 70s, had a walk round and at 1pm decided to visit the Maypole fish and chip restaurant. Great decision, ordered the pensioners special, waited 10 mins and it arrived, haddock, chips, bread and butter, and mushy peas. The fish was cooked to perfection lovely batter, chips spot on, ate every one!!!.peas nice also,... More

Really nice quality Fish & Chips, good batter and fried in proper fat! They have a wide variety of food and can also cook your fish differently for you if you so wish. You can take your food away with you or have a proper sit down meal in a nice quaint little restaurant in the back, some interesting old... More

Went here for tea yesterday whilst st Otley Festival. Lovely fish and chips and would recommend. We had haddock which was really fresh and tasted wonderful. The batter was golden and crispy. The only fault was that the mushy peas were horrid and tasted of smoke. However, they were so busy and when we mentioned this to the waitress, we weren't... More

My son loves fish and chips above all else, and we have had them all over the world, France, Britain, all over the USA, Hawaii, Mexico, several parts of Canada (including both coasts), including places voted as the best in Britain, such as the Magpie in Whitby. His, (and my) conclusion is that the best Fish and chips in the... More

Good sensible food at reasonable prices, served quickly. Although they may have to change their name as Leeds city council took it upon themselves to remove the old maypole, nearby, without discussion. Open at good times so can opt for lunch or tea.

My daughter and I went to the Maypole today for our lunch. The place was clean, good value for money and the fish and chips were cooked to perfection. Our waitress was friendly and helpful and the service was prompt. The toilet was spotless which is always a good indication. What more could we want? Well done Maypole. You deserve... More

The fish, perfectly cooked in a crisp batter, is invariably excellent. The cafe, which is behind the takeaway sales, is cosy and has an intimate atmosphere, while the waitresses are always friendly and obliging. Simply the best, which is the reason why so many people have become regular customers --- ourselves included.
