As we were going to Little India which was not far from our hotel, the reception recommended this restaurant. Great call!! The day was very hot and suffocatingly humid (standard for Penang I was told) and walking into the air-conditioned interior of Karakudi was bliss. Oddly enough most of the cafes we saw in Georgetown did not have air-con. and... More

Enjoyed our lunch here - had South Indian food. We ordered a non vegetarian platter which had 6-7 dishes. Each of them tasted great! We were happy with prices as well. One of the few Indian places in georgetown that didn't trouble our stomachs. It was a lovely respite from the heat as well.

I had a very enjoyable chicken tikka makhani with garlic naan. I felt a little uncomfortable at first, as the only westerner in the place, but I was soon made to feel welcome and enjoyed a lovely chat with the staff about our respective homes and cultures.

We arrived just before 10pm. They close at 11pm. We had read the TA reviews and thought we would try the vegetarian set meal recommended by others. However, we were advised this is actually a lunch offering, not available after 4pm. We then went to order just a curry and rice meal each off the menu, but were advised they... More

My wife and I decided to visit this location after the Tanjung Bunga Branch closed some time ago. the decor was certainly more fancy, and we hoped the food followed suit. I ordered the Non-Veg Set Meal with Mutton for RM16 and my wife tried the Veg Set Meal for RM14.70. The meals came in a circular metal tray lined... More

A visit to this restaurant is a must whenever I go back to my hometown. The menu here is extensive, and the dishes have an authentic, rich Indian taste to them...with all the right spices and cooked just right. As a vegetarian, I thoroughly enjoy the range of choices and full bodied aroma that comes from the masala they use... More

I have been visiting this restaurant for the past four years. It is an affordable, moderately charged Indian restaurant where we can enjoy the traditional south Indian cuisine. The non- vegetarian and vegetarian dishes served by them are very tasty (especially chettinadu style) and unique. I usually enjoy their chicken biriyani along with raitha and spicy gravy or traditional Indian... More
