I really like the food, which is very affordable and good. Everything is quickly prepared and I love the home made spring rolls and the bee hoon (however you prefer to spell it), and their main menu is also very good. Quick, friendly and tasty, this is a really good local lunch place at Batu Feringgi, and the last one... More

I discovered this little gem on my second visit to Penang back in 1994 when Liang's Dad ran it. Do not be put off by the concrete tables the food and service is fantastic and the prices are very reasonable. I was last here in April 14 and can't wait to my next visit.

Arriving at Liang and Loon's cafe after 8 months absence felt just like coming home the food is still excellent but now with an even bigger choice of dishes. This must be one of the hidden gems of BF.

We went to this restaurant for lunch based on some recommendations written on this site. The setting is really basic, rustic and ran down and many plastic chairs are broken. The owners are quite friendly and welcoming but tends to spend too much time talking to their regular customers. We ordered the Tan Sam Squid which was tasty and felt... More

Only open for lunch, Liang and Loon cook the freshest, tastiest food imaginable. The beer is freezing which is a bonus given the heat of the day. Liang's brother Andrew also helps with the cooking. I have never been to a local Malay nonya restaurant where the staff banter is as good. It does not matter who you order from... More

Not really a restaurant but a sidewalk eatery, we discovered this little gem many years ago on our first trip to Penang, much to our delight it was still going strong all these years later, run by the ever-smiling and effervescent Liang and her husband, Loon, this eatery offers Chinese, Malaysian and Thai food at bargain prices (lunchtime specials MR6... This cafe is located in the alley going from the beach to the main road, between The Golden sands Hotel and the Lone Pine Hotel. Get there early for a good table under a fan. It is a little rustic with concrete tables and chairs but I cannot resist visiting this cafe for lunch even when I am not hungry... More

I visit Penang every year and this is simply the only place i will eat lunch. The food is the highest quality you will get. Everything is fresh on the day and cooked fresh. The service as well is excellent from Liang and Loon and also Hashim who serves the drinks. For anyone visiting this is a must try. You... More

Have been eating here for 20 years from when Liang's Dad ran it. Do not be put off by the concrete tables/chairs - to do so would mean that you are going to miss the exceptional food cooked by Liang and Loon. Very reasonably priced and a wide variety of dishes available but do try the sizzling beef. Great cold... More

We returned again in August 2013 and Liang and Loon are still the same and the food is still excellent. If you want to try the best food while in Penang visit this place, it’s the best. Also the cold beer man is next door the coldest beer in Penang. Why we tell everyone I dont know, because its getting... More
