My husband and I have just had a meal at the Boatman Restaurant Batu Ferringhi. I had the beef rendang. It was one of the best curries I have had in a restaurant for a very long time. The curry had so much flavour I could taste all the spices and the meat was tender. My husband had the kway teow... More

This restaurant can be easily missed, and looks nothing from the road but is well worth a visit! Mai and her staff will be only too pleased to cook up a treat for you and the price will leave you feeling very happy' Great friendly atmosphere and many returning guests. Well worth a visit

Actually easy to find but set back off the street. The staff were the friendliest we'd met all holiday. The food was beautifully cooked and they offered to make the curries slightly less hot for the children (we had them at normal spiciness and they were just fine). Very genuine and it was nice to be away from the roadside.... More

Great tasty food at this restaurant/cafe.Friendly staff. This would have to be the cleanest establishment in the whole of Penang; a credit to the owners and staff.

Someone in our hotel recommended this restaurant, not very nice looking from the outside but food was ok. We had Chinese but it was more for tourist and not authentic Chinese food. The mosque was right next door so the whole meal was eaten while the prayers were said on the loud speaker as it is Ramadan. The lady who... More

This is a restaurant that is a favourite for Aussies in Penang. It has an excellent menu and out shines the flashy neighbouring restaurants, including the hotels. Not just in price and value but quality of the dishes. There was seven of us and a complete range of dishes all excellent even specially requested vegetarian dish. Penang Curry with Lemon... More

The food was served quickly, the staff very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the food and went back frequently. The place is clean and tidy. Its location is a bit off putting however the food is genuinely good and with out fuss.

This is walking distance from the Hard Rock hotel we stayed in. Simple decor but the food was good. We paid slightly over $200 ringgit to feed our family of 5 adults and one child. This included main dishes, beverage and a dessert. Every dish we ordered was good. There was tom yam prawn, sizzling beef, chicken curry, stir fried... More

Had it not been for reviews we would have walked past this one as it looks very basic from the road. Certainly not enticing. We took a chance and were happy with the quality and price. Seafood platter was $11.50 AUD and had good variety. Jumbo prawns were $3 AUD per 100g. We had 3 which came to 500g. A... More
