This is a good simple restaurant specialising in seafood. It is on the main canal in the main touristy restaurant area. It serves the lovely local oysters, mussels and all sorts of fish landed locally on the quay. The 15.90 Euro menu is excellent value for money serving 6 oysters, fresh fish and dessert, whilst on the 28 Euro menu... More

We've only reviewed the best restaurants of our vacation, and this was definitely one of them. We arrived at our hotel and asked the manager where to find delicious food and he recommended Le Marie-Jean. The menu included a 3-course dinner with wine for only 16.50 EU. We had fresh oysters, and mussels in garlic butter, lamb, creme brulee and... More

The food is really good, surprisingly good for a touristy place like this. The daily menu was better than expected. A la carte dishes were not worth the price. The interior design inside was quite tacky, sitiing on the street felt like dining on a motorway. All in all a good experience but not one to be repeated. There are... More

I chose this on the basis of TA reviews and found them accurate. Food simple and good, good value set lunch, competent service. Dog friendly too. We arrived quite late but service was not adversely affected.

Just returned from Sete where we spent Bastille Day. We followed the previous reviews and weren't disappointed. Despite this being a busy public holiday we had a lovely three course meal from the €15.90 menu . Ample choice and very good attentive service. Be careful as there is a similarly named restaurant nearby which we can't vouch for. Instead of... More

There are a lot of restaurants along this row. Not easy to choose from walking by - so go here. Food is wonderful. Definitely have some soup and otherwise eat what they suggest.

The Quai du Général Durand is restaurant row. There are so many restaurants, with similar menus and similar prices - I don't know how it would be possible to choose where to eat without the guidance of TripAdvisor! Thankfully, I had done my research before our trip, and thus the Marie-Jean was one of the restaurants where we ate dinner... More

This restaurant was booked by the receptionist of L'Orque Bleue, the hotel on walking distance both at the harbour/canal. We did visit it twice already and again it was SUPER. Fresh and tasty seafood of high quality and the prices are more than acceptable! Local wines are a surprice. Do not let the waiters rush you; step down on the... More

I arrived early (7pm) since I had not eaten lunch and was starved. The sous chef was kind enough to interpret the entire menu to me (my French is horrible) and make some suggestions. As a result, I can only describe the food the way he described it to me. I started with a "funny little cheese dish" that was... More

We stayed for 5 days in Sete in early April – it was a fairly quite time of year with not all restaurants open – Once we had got our bearings it appeared that the main road for Restaurants is Quai General Durand – it overlooks the water front and is lined with Restaurants. Some are better than others –... More
