Great cafe, with fantastic food, sea view and a warm welcome

The Dancing Midge is a great place for breakfast, lunch and snacks. The food is a very good and reasonably priced. The cafe has a great atmosphere, with a lovely sea view and the staff are very welcoming. I would highly recommend Dancing Midge to any visitors to Millport.

We sat outside (dog in tow) enjoying the sunshine and views. Café was busy inside but we still got quick service and scones as big as I've ever had / seen. Lovely flat white coffee. Staff very efficient and friendly. Fairly new ownership and manageress deserves to do well. Make the effort to walk along the front till you find... More

Pop in here for tea and a toastie or some soup with amazing views. It's all fabulous and served with a smile by Moira and her team. What great ambassadors for Scotland and the Scottish tourist industry!

Unacceptable behaviour denying to sit 2 adults and a baby because of the pram giving the seat to another man who complaint. Clearly discriminatory towards families.

We are sorry that you felt the need to write a negative response without actually being in the cafe. As explained to you, we do allow prams in the cafe on quiet periods, however, on that day, the cafe was very busy and there was no space to accommodate your pram. We did not receive any complaints from any customers.......the... More

Looking for a good plate of soup or great lunch then this is the place to visit. We visited the Island on Thursday 4th Dec. and stopped to have lunch in this cafe. What a delight. Everything was cooked well, very nicely presented and very good value.

This is one of the friendliest cafés we have been in for a long time. The carrot cake and coffee were excellent. We were then offered some fudge which was also excellent! If you sit at the window you have the view across to Arran set out before you. A great stop-off when cycling round the island.

Four of us had lunch today 17th Sept, we loved the welcome, the freshness of the place and best of all the food. It is such a friendly place and we chatted and laughed with the owners and other customers. We all had different things from the menu and we all agreed that the food was excellent, if I am... More
