I couldn't agree more with the earlier comments about the service, waitresses, the quality and value of the food at the Midge all of which, in my honest opinion, are excellent. I have visited with both friends and relatives when in Millport and always enjoy the experience. I kinda like that the lady has time to spend a few moments... More

Waitress were top notch, helpful and attentive. Food was great however, the owner appears to have bought the place to chat to pals. Everyone else gets a look that tells them they have interrupted her day. Asking for a coffee I was greated with a huff, I may as well just asked her to do a hand stand and juggle.... More

They do not welcome well behaved dogs. If you own a dog, even if it is not with you, please do not use the cafe. How else do we get establishments to adopt a more balanced and reasonable approach.

popped over to Cumbrae for the day whilst up on holiday. Not much open so we parked and saw the Dancing Midge Cafe open with a few people having a drink in the warm sunshine. Was still quite early and we had not ahd breakfast so both opted for the Scottish Breakfast. What a delight to the taste buds and... More

What more could you ask for: good food, value for money, very friendly staff and beautiful view. Had full Scottish breakfast and sat outside enjoying the view. They were happy to provide water for our dogs too.

Thoroughly enjoyed several visits to the cafe last week. All the food was tasty and well presented from soup and panini combo to chilli with nachos and salad. A relaxing and pleasant place to sit and watch the world go by, whether over an excellent cup of coffee or over a meal. The staff were friendly and helpful, greeting all... More
