An excellent introduction to Sikkimese cuisine

Unfortunately, it was just after Tibetan New Year and the owner informed me that they weren't serving any meat. I was hoping for a taste of locally prepared meat dishes but I settled for the vegetarian set meal instead. And what a meal it was. The meal left me very impressed with Sikkimese cuisine... read more

This was without a doubt the best food we had in Sikkim. The owner was more than welcoming and warm in talking to our and guiding to each and every thing he has in his restaurant. We were glad that he allowed us in even though his cook was not on duty that day due to illness!! even with his... More

Tiny place that "sells out" out 6:30 pm. Go early or call in. Get the set meal. The fermented spinach soup awesome! The salad was good. The local butter/cheese was good. The dish made of fermented soybean was pungent. Has to be an acquired taste. Chicken dish was good. We also took a plate of home-made beef sausage. It was... More

Friendly owner who was sweet enough to suggest that one set meal would suffice two people. Really good traditional sikkimese food . Go early as the place runs out of food pretty fast. We we there at 6:45 p.m. and everyone who came after us was turned away Must try when in Gangtok

After reading great reviews about 9'INE Native Cuisine we decided to visit here during our trip. The host suggested us a lot of option and we were satisfied with all the meals we had ordered. We had ordered Momos, spinach soup - a local delicay, Bhutanese dish and noodles. The all were simply yummmyyyyy..would definitively recommend for native cuisine. I... More

Sure try for true Sikkimese food. Owner doesn't want big noise so keep quite. No smoking. Just quantity may not accompany all the dish size and you need another bowl of curry.. Overall very good food and good owner.

If you love trying out different traditional dishes you will love it! The host is friendly and helpful and the music was good. Food was amazing I had never tried traditional Nepalese or Sikkimese food so enjoyed a lot. If you are someone who likes to play it safe remember , there's always a first!

We only tried the Native Sikkimese meal and judging by that the attention paid to food here is beyond question. First was impressed by the owner who agreed that one set meal was enough to share between two people. He explained the dishes we would receive before they arrived. He also took the time to explain how the dishes were... More

This restaurant serves the best local cuisine. I tried their vegetarian set and trust me.., it's as original as it can be.. No MSG (aginamoto) and the portion is big enough for king kong.
