Wow!!!

If you're in Gangtok and want to try local cuisine, this is the place. Its in the main market however, its quite difficult to locate since it is on the 1st floor. Non-vegetarians will enjoy this place more than vegetarians but vegetarian food is also very good. The thukpa (noodle soup) is to die... read more

After reading great reviews, my hubby and I went there in the evening. We are vegetarians and the strong smell of I really don't know beef or pork literally killed my appetite. We ordered a Sikkimese veg thali which was sufficient for two of us.The taste was very different and I ended up eating little, but my hubby ate to his fill.The... Brilliant food, had the set meal and the taste still lingers. Highlight of our Gangtok trip. Owner is hospitable and passionate about popularising the local cuisine. Thumbs up for this place.

If you want to cherish traditional Sikkimese cuisine, this is the place to visit. The set menu was awesome and we revisited the place for the same meal within 4 days. And of course the chicken momos were great.

Very interesting host who runs this place, very chatty - and the food is traditional Sikkimese (though not being a local - I can only say it felt and tasted authentic in the way the owner described it). And the fact that it was

Unfortunately, it was just after Tibetan New Year and the owner informed me that they weren't serving any meat. I was hoping for a taste of locally prepared meat dishes but I settled for the vegetarian set meal instead. And what a meal it was. The meal left me very impressed with Sikkimese cuisine and the Gundruk soup, which I... More

This was without a doubt the best food we had in Sikkim. The owner was more than welcoming and warm in talking to our and guiding to each and every thing he has in his restaurant. We were glad that he allowed us in even though his cook was not on duty that day due to illness!! even with his... More

Tiny place that "sells out" out 6:30 pm. Go early or call in. Get the set meal. The fermented spinach soup awesome! The salad was good. The local butter/cheese was good. The dish made of fermented soybean was pungent. Has to be an acquired taste. Chicken dish was good. We also took a plate of home-made beef sausage. It was... More

Friendly owner who was sweet enough to suggest that one set meal would suffice two people. Really good traditional sikkimese food . Go early as the place runs out of food pretty fast. We we there at 6:45 p.m. and everyone who came after us was turned away Must try when in Gangtok

After reading great reviews about 9'INE Native Cuisine we decided to visit here during our trip. The host suggested us a lot of option and we were satisfied with all the meals we had ordered. We had ordered Momos, spinach soup - a local delicay, Bhutanese dish and noodles. The all were simply yummmyyyyy..would definitively recommend for native cuisine. I... More
