My wife and I were brought here by local friends before our visit to Ajijic. They say this is the best Mexican restaurant in the Guadalajara area. We enjoyed traditional food (I had huitlacoche with my food), 2for1 margaritas, and beautiful all-female Mariachis all whilst we enjoyed our lunch. If you are in the area, I totally recommend this place.

A friend took us to El Patio for lunch. It was such a great place. I had costillas (ribs) which came with salad and potatoes. The guys had chiles enoghada. Very good on both choices. Fresh corn tortillas, salsa arbol (?), and pico de gallo was brought to the table. Margaritas were good. The best part of the lunch was... More

This establishment has been a must visit for each visit to Tlaquepaque! One clue as to the consistency of this place is that we see or are waited on by waiters that have been there since we first started visiting over ten years ago. The food has always been well prepared, the service great and the margaritas super!

The atmosphere was great and everything I had was delicioso! I enjoyed my quesadilla de huitlacoche. Huitlacoche is hard to find in Los Angeles! My main dish was the chicken with mole and it was very tasty being that I am particular with my mole. Waiters were very attentive and gave me great suggestions for my tequila shots.

We ate there last evening, and were not impressed. Our waiter appearing soon after we arrived to inquire about drinks. When we hesitated for a moment to decide, he told us he'd be back shortly. Shortly in this case turned out to be 15 minutes. He brought our drinks and again promptly disappeared. After another half hour wait, we finally... More

We have had lunch at the El Patio on virtually every trip to Mexico over the last 10 years and have never been disappointed. Many of the waiters were there on our first visit and many acknowledge each time we visit. The atmosphere is outstanding and the food and service is very consistent. Sorry to hear that the past reviewer... More

We ate at the Patio because it was recommended in Tripadvisor. We were very disappointed with the food, it had the look and taste of having been warmed up in the microwave. The chichen was dry, overcooked, the mole was nothing special, it actually tasted as if it had come from a jar at the grocery store, even the guacamole... More
