Hidden Gem in a sleepy little viallage

This is a fantastic rustic and very atmospheric restaurant hidden away in a little village in between Gandia and Oliva ! They specialise in Wood fired stove cooked pizzas, fresh pasta, wonderful salads and a variety of steak and fish dishes. It looks like a converted barn inside and out and... read more

An unusually historical setting for dinner, we sat in the 'garden' area which was really special. Our starters of squid, salmon and croquettes were very good. The pizzas that followed were good with thin crusts and generous toppings. Pleasant staff and nice surroundings. Will return.

Was a bit apprehensive after reading reviews on here, but was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant itself is so beautiful, it has a rustic charm and an outdoor 'garden' area which we booked for our anniversary dinner, very romantic with candles and trailing flowers overhanging the roof terrace. Although the menu is completely in Spanish, and the waiting staff speak very... More

We have been to La Casa Gran many times and have recommended it to many. Yesterday's visit was very disappointing. The service was poor, we had to ask for bread which is unheard of in a Spanish restaurant. We asked for salt 3 times before it appeared. The steak was overcooked, the chops cold and the fish swimming in oil.... More

We have visited here before and enjoyed the food but not on this visit. The pizza was salty, soggy, and missed the egg ingredient. My seafood ravioli did not seem to contain the promised 'fruits de mar, just something fishy' and was covered in a cheese sauce, my friend had swordfish which he reported not very good. There was a... More

This is a little treasure hidden away in Guardamar ( Gandia region ). Judging by the queues of people turning up at La Casa Gran it's not a complete secret. This old reformed Library is a very pleasant venue serving good Spanish / Italian food. We had a number of Tapas dishes incl Pate, Cheeses, Calamari, Croquettes, Fish Ravioli, and... More
