We were regular diners, once a month, at this restaurant for several years. We found the food, service, surroundings all very good and the value excellent. However, about a year ago we arrived at the restaurant with friends, having reserved our table as usual, to find the restaurant had not reserved our table. The restaurant said they were expecting us... More

The food's always good and the staff friendly. But the best time to come is in the summer, to eat outside in the courtyard - a real pleasure.

There are many good restaurants in Gandia all offering high quality food, friendly attentive service and a warm and welcoming atmosphere and this should always be expected. Almar offers something that makes it very special. The chefs take so much pride in their work that every quality dish is freshly cooked ,and leaves the kitchen only when the chef is... More

We visited after reading other reviews on trip advisor - and we were not disappointed. Although quiet on a Tuesday evening we sat amongst other Spanish diners and enjoyed a well presented meal. Despite speaking no English, the waiter was very friendly and service excellent. The head chef regularly came out to check that all was as it should be.... More

All our 10 meals at Almar have been utterly divine. One of them involved a cookery day starting at 9.30am at which we and 38 other food lovers took part in food preparation with a wonderful, enthusiastic chef. We tasted, we admired, we were impressed ; we stopped for wine at 1.30pm then each of us prepared our own fish... More

Some restaurants get it just right . Attentive service without being intrusive, the volume of the music, the atmosphere, and above all , the food and it's presentation . We have eaten here three times in the past two weeks..twice at lunchtime and one 'degustation' tapas evening, which was a culinary triumph. It looked beautiful and tasted sublime. We have... More

Of several restaurants in Gandia that I had an opportunity to visit, this one is certainly one of the nicer ones. Attractive menus from a traditional kitchen but presented in the style of today. I enjoyed a lunch consisting of a fresh salad, a seafood rice dish, and an ice cream enveloped in thinly sliced fruit. Very tasty. I think... More
