Enjoyable return visit, but some issues for management to address.

We recently held a family reunion lunch at this restaurant, and it is a pleasure to advise that everything was exceptional. The party comprised 11 adults, 3 children and 3 infants. We chose a three-course meal for the adults, with pre-nibbles, and appropriate menus for the kids. We arrived on time and the staff met us enthusiastically, and this enthusiasm... More

We returned to Fischer's again for another wonderful overnight stay. Sensational, memorable food and accommodation, fine service and a lovely relaxed feel to the whole place. One of our favourite places of all to stay and consistently superb. The gardens are also a treasure, with many great plants and a fabulous kitchen garden. When we departed, our overnight stay left... Not been for a few years. Saturday lunch to celebrate my birthday/our wedding anniversary/Joe finishing his GCSEs. We all had the tasting menu, me with the wine. Fantastic.....our 11-year-old decided that he does like scallops after all, with the black pudding purée. Wine choices very good and very good value for an extra £40. Only comment is why the entrance... More

Fischers is up there with the memorable one star restaurants. Excellent food, brilliant service, lovely location, great rooms. The value is exceptional for the experience. My only critiques are that the tasting menu is not particularly different from other restaurants in its class, and that the dinning room could do with just a touch of background music. Would return.

Back again, but still as good as ever. This time for lunch, and we tried the 2015 menu - 2 courses for £20.15 or 3 for £27. You really can't go wrong for such a bargain price, but the food was just as good a standard as always. The plaice with truffle gnocchi was fantastic, as was lemon meringue pie.... More

Spent a wonderful overnight stay for our wedding anniversary. We had the 'very cosy' room, we had the dimensions, told cosy, high ceilings, massive picture window made this room lovely. Relaxed atmosphere with plenty of staff but not over attentive that can be the case with some establishments. This was a real plus as we dislike waiting staff hovering and... More
