Good Food and great view

Welcoming staff, the food was very good and the view of Mount Cook is beautiful. Had two meals, wine and dessert, the food was served promptly and everything was well done. The ambiance is cozy and the music from the 80s. It is a little bit pricy but I think it was worth it after a long day hike.

This café isn't that great. they serve up 2 pre-cooked sausages cut in half and charge $22! Everything is organic, you get no choice. Definitely wont be returning!

Your review is unfair because it is incorrect. For $22 (including gst and National Park DOC fees) you receive two sausages, msg-free and made from NZ pork rather than pork from other countries, tomato sauce on the side, a generous side of french fries and a generous seasonal salad mix of fresh lettuce, carrot, cabbage, celery, cucumber with olive oil... Very welcoming, friendly, efficient staff - service with a smile! The food was well presented and well cooked. Had two meals, breakfast/coffee and every time we had top quality food served by helpful and friendly staff. Would recommend to anyone, not only for the good food but lots of great books to purchase, gifts and souvenirs. The interior of sawn... More

We did Heli Hike with Charlie who owns the cafe and stopped in after for lunch. The restaurant is family owned and operated with very nice staff. The menu isn't huge due to the small town but my husband and I easily found something to order. Our food was great was spectacular views and service. We opted to leave the... More

Small restaurant compared to the restsaurant in the hostel nearby.. but decent food and a nice setting... the staff is friendly and helpful to place your orders.. worth a visit as there are only a handful restaurants in Mt Cook

We went there for lunch. No big selection of food but pizza was nice. Coffee was normal. Scenery was stunning!

I went here for lunch to escape a very rainy day! there was no hurry, I could stay as long as I liked, and the views from the restaurant were good even in the rain. Try the salmon pizza - yummy :-)

Good Food but a little pricey for lunch but that is MT COOK. All food is expensive at MT COOK. The food was VERY FRESH and YUMMY , only down side was the limited menu. The restaurant was cozy and warm with great views - shame about the rainy day we were there though.

Thanks so very much for your positive review. Yes, as it is our very quiet part of the year we have a more limited menu so that what we offer is as fresh as possible. After Dept of Conservation fees, gst, transport costs and insurance costs and purchase of quality food, you may find it a little dearer than city... More

This restaurant is fantastic. The food is gourmet casual. In a remote location where everything is owned by the large resort this is a privately owned independent restaurant. Great Pizzas and beef dishes. I had the steak and it was magnificent. The owner is on the premises so you can imagine that the service is impeccable. Wide selection of beers.... More
