Came here on my brithday whilst on our skiing holiday. There was 8 of us. We shared some entrees amoungst us all and each had a main. Most of us were happy with the meals and we were looked after well. Would definitly reccomned it and would come back here again if we are in Methven again sometime.

Returned for dinner here after an excellent meal last year. Our table near the fire was warm a cosy. Came with my three youngest children and we all enjoyed our food. Very interesting venison main course with a dark chocolate and orange sauce that worked well. I also liked my gluten free spicy cornbread entree. Desserts were also excellent and... More

I do love the intimacy of this place, it is extremely cosy with stunning food ..... the cornbread and baked Camembert are staple favourites. Always nice wines on the wine list as well ..... I have had a few awesome mojitos over the summer time and yummy mulled wine in winter!

Part of a big group for a 40th birthday. Very attractive cafe bar. However the manager was unbelievably hostile and rude to our group. He is a North American with a seriously bad attitude, clearly not interested in providing good service for repeat patronage from locals. The other staff were courteous and efficient but this guy really has to go.... More

Visited at night to a warm welcome and atmosphere. The mulled wine was great. Didn't have time to try the food unfortunately. Worth a visit.

I'd return here for drinks and the atmosphere, not necessarily the food. It was nice and very fresh, but unexciting in terms of flavours. We had nice service and a pleasant evening but there are better food options. The bar was fun and attracts load of locals/mountain workers at apres time. The place to be seen!

As i wrote in the title - great bar, great food and great fire place. Bar staff are most helpful, informative and inclusive - every time.

My husband & I had dinner on a tue night to celebrate my BDay. Service was excellent, cocktails excellent, steaks were cooked to perfection. Reminded me if the high quality food & service at the Bunker in Queenstown.

The open fire was wonderful in this warm and cosy little café where we had dinner. Our german waitress was lovely and friendly-very helpful. The menu was somewhat limited we thought, but after deciding on the pork spareribs we were very happy-they were so tender and tasty and you got a big serve, so real value for money here.
