My husband and I were spending part of our honeymoon in Christchurch and we decided to spend one of our days wine tasting in the Waipara Valley region. As we were driving up to Amberley we drove past the Brew Moon Café and made a mental note of it. We didn't eat much while we were wine tasting so when... More

The title sums it up. It's a shame really, the atmosphere was great, the product offering unique and tasty but the service is probably the worst I have experience in a long time. The staff treated us and our friends as an inconvenience to their day. They appeared to care more about the latest Facebook status, on their phones rather... More

We were very disappointed to read this review as this is not the experience of many of our customers. Would like to follow up with the staff but are unsure what day this occurred so makes it difficult. We would appreciate an email direct so we can follow this up. In response to the Facebook comment staff are not allowed... More

We stopped for a late lunch on Sunday, the carpark was quite full- a good sign. Restaurant wasn't crowded so we were served quickly and no fuss. Worth a stop. No brews for the driver but will maybe sample another time.

Even if you are not a diehard fan of micro breweries, you will enjoy this charming and relaxing little cafe with its nice garden and pleasant atmosphere. The cakes are just as good as the service!

I visited this café last year and enjoyed the beers so took some friends there this year for lunch on our way to Christchurch. The service was poor, we felt like we were putting the staff at an inconvenience turning up!. We all got a tasting paddle and ordered lunch. The food was lovely when it came and have no... More

I've driven past this cafe hundreds of times without a second glance. I can only say I wish I hadn't. Great food, reasonable service, incredibly surprising. Give it a go. I wish I had earlier

Saw it recommended in Lonely Planet for its beer, and rightly so. Hophead was excellent and the food was well cooked and generous portions. Friendly and efficient staff, well worth visiting en route from Kaikoura to Christchurch. Pleasant outside eating area.

We called here on our way to Kaikoura thinking it was simply a cafe. Didn't expect good quality beer to accompany an excellent dinner. The cafe is in a perfect position and easy to access... Not to be missed!

Would recommend for casual daytime dining. Not far from Chch and easy to find. Very relaxing atmosphere and good friendly service. We will return.

Awesome place to stop, the brewers breakfast was fantastic and the option of sitting inside or outside depending on weather, great service. Highly recommended
