Recently visited Tarapoto with my wife and found La Patarashca to be best ethnic food restaurant in the city. Yesterday evening, however, we had their Tiradito (kind of like ceviche) and fund it to be really salty. I should have known that the dishes shouldn't be too salty and that we should have returned it, but to ur detriment we... More

Good quality food. Low price. Fresh, authentic and the pace is nice... Every time I travel to the jungle I visit patarashca.

restaurant itself looks quite nice and rustic. But the food was rather average. Fish was cooked well but deep fried yuca was basically raw. I needed to ask them to exchange it. What's more they spilled whole jar of juice on my boyfriend and brought us just one glass of it to compensate. All together I wouldn't recommend.

The food here is just absolutely top class and a great variety of the lesser known Peruvian dishes. Don't worry, because it's a little bit upmarket doesn't mean you'll get less on your plate - the portions are large just the way Peruvians love it. Yes, this is a popular attraction with tourists but people come back for more if... More

We loved this restaurant and went back a second night and had two of the same things. We loved the paiche patarashca, the sudado de gamitana and the ensalada de chontas. For food of this quality and finesse we did not think it overpriced, in fact we felt it was extraordinary value for money. Only problem is we are now... More

If you go there you have no choice but trying their EXCELENT Patarashca. This dish freshly prepared will make travel around an explosion of spices and the fresh fish. Great food (a bit expensive) very fresh but the service was a bit dissapointed. I was welcomed by a smily guy who explained to me the dish and gave some suggestions.However,... More

Title pretty much covers it. We ordered a mixed grill plate including several of the local meat varieties. The food was average at best. Our waiter was good and the drinks reasonably stiff, still nothing really to go out of one's way for.

We went in group of 8 people, as soon as we came we ordered as we knew what we wanted, I had to buy something so walked 3 block to the supermarket and took a while shopping and walking back (not least than 30 min), still when I came back no food was served and just started serving after another...
