Interesting Meal Overlooking the Bay

Arrived with out a booking to a fairly empty restaurant - it did fill up later. The welcome we received was poor with our being offered a table at the back behind a pillar. After minor negotiation we ended up on the terrace overlooking the pretty bay. Initial service was slow but then our... read more

This restaurant is in an excellent setting just off the beach and in the evening may have some spectacular sunsets viewable from your table. The food is top quality and extremely well presented. The wine list is extensive but not too large to get lost within. The serving staff are attentive and efficient. I would have no hesitation in recommending... More

Our first visit and impressed. Up market food compared to La Maison Blanc but just as good a setting. Girls had tournedos Rossini with good pieces of foie gras and excellent steak, my wife had a brochette of giant scallops on a bed of crab risotto and I had duck. All very good. There is a good fish choice too... More

We had not been to this restaraunt since it had changed name and been altered. We were very impressed although it would had been even better had we booked a table as we could have had a table with an even better view of the bay. The staff were very friendly the food was very good it is expensive but... More

Great view over the bay and very good food - modern, well cooked, freshfood. Good menu with plenty of choice.

Put off eating here by the menu outside. Although we ate here last year and had a great meal we felt that the menu had hardly changed. The 'menu printemps' was more autumnal with mushrooms, prunes and dried apricots. There was a lack of fresh spring-like produce. I wanted to see broad beans, asparagus, fresh peas, mint, strawberries, cherries... Perhaps... More

I have had a meal at the Maison Blanche - rated first out of 5 in Vaux-sur-Mer, also at L'Arrosoir - rated 2nd out of 5 in Vaux-sur-Mer. The ratings are wrong. L'Assosoir is much, much, much better. If you have tried them both, there is no way you would put 'The Watering Can' (Arrosoir), second. We had the standard... More

This was my second visit, first was last October. Thought I'd give it another try as I enjoyed the food on my first visit, but the service let it down. This time it was the other way round. Service had improved but the food was disappointing. Nicely presented and very pleasing to the eye, but it didn't deliver in the... More

This restaurant has a fantastic location overlooking the beach. Great menu - the food was excellent and beautifully presented. The only thing that let it down was the level of service. At this level of establishment and at these prices, you should not have to ask for red wine glasses which in itself took over ten minutes to get the... More

We ate here twice during our stay in Saint Palais, the first evening was amazing, tuna steaks cooked to perfection and attentive staff. The second visit, a sunday evening, was not as good, hence the 4 star rating. The staff seemed a bit distracted or possibly tired. Wonderful position looking over the beach, lovely decor and clean. Would go back... More
