Nice midweek visit

We visited mid week as a couple. We had the steak and the pulled pork burger. Steak was average. The staff were attentive. A little pricey! Sauces to accompany the already pricey steaks could be made cheaper. Offer better cuts of steak I would happily pay more for better quality.

We visited here early Saturday evening and was surprised at 5.00pm, when the place was half empty, that there was a debate whether we could be squeezed in at this time. However, we did get a table! Upon leaving an hour and half later, there were still at least 4 tables for two still available. The service was attentive and... More

The service friendly and efficient. As an afterthought by the waitress we were offered an extra 'special of the day' noticing the price of the other specials we assumed this one was in line with the rest. We were quite shocked to find the dish cost £21.00 each. not the usual 'dish of the day' price. The 'three kinds of... More

Loved the look, feel and atmosphere of this place, pretty busy even on a Tuesday night. Service was good and food was OK, but nothing to write home about. Nothing wrong with the food but for the price I would have expected something a bit more memorable, however one week on I can barely remember what I had.

I've been to the main restaurant a few times since The Hermitage has opened and I have rarely been disappointed with any aspect of the food, service or atmosphere, but I had never been to the new coffee shop/shopping experience which has opened underneath the main first class restaurant. This is a great venue and extension to the top quality... More

What a great concept when it first opened but how the standards have sloped off since. "Hello I'm George and I'll be your waiter" Never to be seen again. Actually pretty hard to get anybody to be our waiter. Drinks good Food good but service terrible. And at those prices too far short of the mark.

After eating at the fox, earlier in the week, we were told about this place, so booked for dinner. Very, no excellent, homemade chicken liver parfait. Ok goat cheese starter. Very good roast beef dinner. Lovely, really nice decor. Staff generally very good, polite, and attentive, but one overly animated waitress, that gave a running commentary on her service to... More

My partner took me here for a treat on Easter Sunday; we are frequent visitors to The Fox (owned by the same people I believe) and I've wanted to visit for a long time. Due to the bank holiday they were running a set menu which included the roast. It wasn't outstanding value for money but competitively priced. The restaurant... More

Went here for a girls night out as had been before. Dinner was lovely, a little rushed as we had to vacate for the next sitting. Would have been nice to have stayed as the bar was far too busy to getvsoace after. A little pricey if honest, but food was nice.

I booked this place for a family member's birthday because I had heard good things about it. The restaurant itself is contemporary and had a great atmosphere. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the food. While the menu is rather sparing in terms of choice, this did not stop the food from being excellent. Personally, I had the sirloin... More
