I came to redcoats for a family celebration. The building is lovely and welcoming with open fires in the rooms and tastefully decorated tradition farnhouse. The staff were also very welcoming. The food in my experience was really not good at all however. I ordered soup of the day which was pumpkin and bacon, which I thought sounded very nice... More

Lunched here with friends during their promotional week to relaunch the refurbished conservatory restaurant, which is part of a larger refurbishment programme at Redcoats. We ordered a variety of fish and meat dishes and all were very good quality, well cooked and nicely presented by efficient professional staff, and we shall certainly be returning.

As with a recent reviewer, we went along for the £19.64 meal celebrating 50 years for Redcoats. I first dined at Redcoats in 1976 and it was interesting to see what had changed and what had not. The restaurant is certainly bigger but most of the rest has stayed pretty consistent. The pre-dinner wait in the bar whilst choosing from... More

I have eaten at Redcoats on a few occasions, and at a Sunday lunch there a couple of weeks ago they produced great food combined with discreet but attentive service in a wonderful setting. We were made welcome from the moment we arrived and were taken through to a comfortable lounge area where we could cast an eye over the... More

We are emigrating next week, and had our 'final' meal at Redcoats last night, twenty one years after I first took my wife there when she arrived from Canada. Throughout that time it has continued to be our very favourite restaurant, bar none. The food is always superb, the service is always just right, and the hosts Jacqui and Peter... More

My first visit here for a celebration meal in the private dining area that had lots of pluses but needs a little zap to make it top end. Great staff who were friendly but the small bar area meant our pre-dinner champagne was a little cramped. Enjoyed the food that was pre-ordered off a good menu & from the lamb... More

My wife and I wanted to celebrate my Birthday so we phone-booked for lunch. On arrival, we immediately discovered that the dining room was being renovated with loud drilling noises (not mentioned to us on the phone call booking). It was explained that the dining room had been temporarily relocated to another room. We were asked to sit in the... More
