This is the second time we have been to this premises the previous occasion was late summer. As a result of the first attendance we decided to take a couple of friends with us to have our annual Xmas dinner. The atmosphere was wonderful and a lot of trouble had been paid to the placing and nature of Xmas decorations.... More

We decided on this pub, for our regular Family Sunday Roast Lunch. Everything from telephone booking (and slight change, later) went smoothly. Thanks, Julie. We arrived about half an hour early for our 1 pm booking, and found the reserved table (for four) was ready for us, so we chatted and had drinks, and then ordered at the bar. A... More

I had Sunday lunch here with a group of 7. The pun was very rustic with lovely open fires. We all had starters and mains and paid for our meals and drinks separately which they were great about. The food was very good portions and amazing value. The service was also very friendly. The food itself was nice. Not spectacular... More

I have been here a few times and love this pub. Really fantastic menu with huge range of choice and food of very good quality. Nice outside area overlooking the pond with patio heaters when it is a bit cold. Bit cramped inside though so not sure would come on a non-sunny day.

We have just had an excellent Sunday lunch, we can't rate this pub highly enough. Excellent service, very good food and a large varied menu. We decided on roasts and every one of them were superb. A good selection of vegetables all cooked to perfection. Quite often one of the meats will be below par, but the lamb, pork and... More

This was our first time eating at this place. I visited once before (for the weekly quiz night) and loved the atmosphere - warm and friendly. We decided to go there last night for a family meal to celebrate my birthday. I have to say, I was very impressed. The food took a while to arrive but was piping hot... More

We booked a table here for 8:pm on a Saturday night, when we arrived we were told that there was a half hour delay on the food, which was fine as it meant we could sit outside and have some drinks before our meal in the beautiful surroundings. Our meal eventually arrived 1 hour later at 9:pm and sadly was... More

General response. Firstly I would like to thank everyone for taking the time to review our business. We truly value the opinions of all our customers. I consider the Waggon and horses to be a traditional country pub that serves food and not a restaurant. We deliberately try to market our business in this way as I'm sure you are... More

A lunch at the end of a long drive: we arrived over an hour late but our reserved table was still available, which we changed to sit in the garden as it was a glorious sunny day. The pub was very busy, but despite the warning of a 30-minute wait the food arrived in half that time. I had arranged... More

We went for Sunday lunch. Had to order at the bar, no waitress service. We all had a roast - beef, lamb & chicken. Meat was ok but not particularly tender. Very large Yorkshire pudding and nice veg. Deserts were very nice. All in all an ok meal, but wouldn't rush back.
