Meal out with friends and family

We were seated at a window table with a wonderful view over the bay. We all ordered from the Early Bird menu. The quality of the food, which is all locally sourced, was excellent.

The Porthole is a wonderful, wonderful restaurant. The staff was fantastic and the food was so excellent--truly it was the best food we had on our 8-day trip through Ireland and Northern Ireland. We loved the olive & oil appetizer, and our meals were outstanding. I had a pasta, chicken, pesto dish that was excellently prepared and perfected seasoned. My... More

This place had pretty great food and offered wonderful coastal views. Definitely make a reservation and request a table with a view. It gets packed! The service was a bit slow but the waiter explained that they take orders in the order you are seated. The mussels were amazing as a starter. I wished I had ordered them as my... More

We had a 2-course early bird dinner here. The first plus was a table by the window where the views are awesome. (It can get hot there but they will lower the shades to keep the sun from blinding you.) The second plus was the main course food. A rump steak and a ham steak were both excellent and the... More

Following a local recommendation, we had a very pleasant dinner in this 'back in time' dining room. We were lucky enough to get a table by the window with a stunning view over the bay and harbour on a sunny evening. Service was attentive and efficient, and the restaurant was busy. Our sea bass tempura and salmon dishes were tasty... More

Had a great meal here and also the breakfast the next morning. I would also say the drink is very affordable and I was quite surprised how cheap it was.

We stayed at the hotel for one night and decided to eat at the restaurant. The menu offers good choice and the food was decent. We had the bread selection with dips and oil, which was good, but it seemed a bit odd to serve bread with nuts and fruit. We also had a salad and the chicken curry -... More

The Porthole is modern but very comfortable. The view from the front windows is spectacular at sunset. Good beer and a decent selection of wines.
