Dined here on a Friday night and glad we booked as it was packed! Requested a highchair for our one year old but had to give it a good clean myself as there were bits of food around it which wasn't a good start. The service was ok, twice the girl taking our order only took 3 out of 4... More

Our highlight of our stay in Portballintrea was dinner here. The food was delicious and feature a lot of fresh seafood from the local waters. Our large group was well accommodated, so I was most pleased with that. The atmosphere is pleasant as it looks out over the bay of this small fishing village. Not many choices in town, but... More

Family meal on Tuesday evening. Service very good, staff very welcoming and polite. Food was brought promptly and was very enjoyable. Really beautiful setting in a bright and busy room. Would definitely return to this restaurant which had a good variety of dishes all the family.

The Bayview Hotel was a terrific experience and the Porthole was too. Full of friendly people (local and tourists). What a way to finish a day.

Usually really enjoy eating here as lovely views and previously food very good, but on this occasion my husband had the salmon which he didn't enjoy and my vegetarian pasta had chicken in it which I actually ate some of as I thought it was quorn. It was replaced and we weren't charged for the dish but side of chips... More

Love this restaurant, staff are so friendly and helpful. Food is always good, menu has great variety, prices are reasonable, stunning views of the harbour from this restaurant, gorgeous setting. Highly recommend the bayview for dinner or even drinks.

We were told about the hotel by locals, which I think is always good, we were told to go early because it gets busy, which it did - but mainly because of the early bird value meal. Food was fairly normal pub/bistro type food and plenty of it, we didn't have any problems with waiting or service. If you have... More

Had yet another very enjoyable meal in this restaurant. Service was quite slow, 30 mins from we gave our order till it was served and prices are slightly more than other places but when food arrived it was very good indeed, as it always is. I had the chicken with the champ and pepper sauce and it was delicious. Will... More

This was my first time that me and my family have ever ate here. It was my sisters graduation and we were all super excited about celebrating... when I had arrived the table looked great and they had put out the decorations we had left perfect. We had pre ordered our meal so that it would make it easier for... More
