Just ok. Not a lot more to say. Service OK, and food ok. Nothing great and a little pricey but ok. Fish sandwich was grilled and OK. Shrimp sandwich was good but shrimp just fell off sandwich.

The Hatch Mahi Mahi sandwich was large, very tasty and excellent. The Shrimp Salad looked awesome as well and was enjoyed by another in our party of three. Service was very good and the decor is always inviting, reflecting the down home atmosphere of being right on the water and in an area rich in NASCAR history. We saw porpoise... More

We happend upon Down the Hatch as we were driving from Daytona looking for a local place to eat. Pulled into the Parking lot and knew we would love it. Sat outside on the deck with a gorgeous view of the water. Had a couple of drinks and ordered the broiled seafood combo platter and the stuffed mushrooms. Both were... More

This restaurant is in a beautiful setting, right on the water! Unfortunately,it is old and "resting on its previous laurels"! I asked what local fish was available and chose Mahi Mahi, which was supposed to be fresh catch and local. It was hard and awful, old and frozen is my guess! When asked how everything as, i told them and to give them... More

This is 3rd time we have been to this place. Normally awesome food, awesome setting, awesome service. well, this time----only 2 out of 3. Not sure what the deal is, but Bethany was not on the ball or something. Other people that came in after us, ate and left before us. Long wait for each step of meal--too long. Not... More

We were in town for the Daytona 500 and it was a rain out so we started driving and ended up at this spot. Little did we know that this would be a excellent dinner. We started with some conch fritters that were fantastic and then we both ordered trigger fish for our entree. It was our first time having... More

Down the hatch proved to be a great place to stop by for lunch after visiting the lighthouse down the road.

The shrimp sandwich was very good but not worth the price tag. Luckily the service was great and the weather and dolphins playing in the water made up for it all.

Joined some friends of ours there for lunch based upon their recommendation and they were spot on. Great seafood restaurant and their clam chowder was some of the best that I have had. Both my wife and I had a salad and spit the clam chowder which could have fed 3-4 people, the bowl was so big. Great atmosphere for... More

I have been to this restaurant a couple times before and gave it a good review at that time but my latest trip was disappointing. All I can guess is they have gone with new management since my last visit because the menu went through some small changes such as deleting some previously available choices while going way up on...
