We really enjoyed our dinner here. I had the prime rib. It was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. My husband ordered the king crab legs and loved them. He hesitated a bit on the price but they were well worth it. The view from our seats over the water was beautiful. Throughout dinner we watched fish jumping all about.... More

I thought this was very average did, but my spouse was pleased. Sometimes I think restaurants try too hard and complicate good food by adding extra ingredients. This restaurant does that. Service was good and prices fair for the portions served.

Nice location with boats coming and going. At the end of Ponce Inlet so its a bit of a ride. But its real Florida feel makes it worth the trip. However, the service really needs to step it up. Meal was decent, nothing too cooked or under cooked, just right. Its just that bad service makes you ignore the positives... More

We came across Down the Hatch while looking for a place to get something to drink after visiting the lighthouse and marine center. We sat out on the dock with ice tea and split a salad. The salad was excellent, fresh and large enough for a snack for two of us. Our waiter was great, kind enough to bring us... More

The quality and service at this restaurant has significantly gone down. The service was horrible (an older woman who stated shes been working here for years) was slow, forgetful (wasn't busy), had little conversation, never refilled drinks, and was miserable. The place is looking dingy and old. The food was extremely bland (and I don't use salt) needing salt on... More

We went there for lunch and ordered steamed shrimp and the alaskan king crab. the food was tasty, but the seafood was overcooked/oversteamed. the atmosphere was wonderful and the service was friendly and helpful. I have been coming here since I was a child and will return again, but Please do NOT over cook the seafood!

This is a rustic restaurant with nice seating and nice views of Halifax river. You can watch boats come and go while you eat. We were greeted and sat in a booth with a view. The waiter was very helpful in the selection of the sides. The salads are good, the sides are good but the seafood is bland. I... More

As a local who has eaten here many times, I can say this rustic little dockside restaurant serves some of the best food in Central Florida. They make all their own sauces, glazes and salad dressing and these little touches make all the difference in the world. For example, their coconut shrimp are excellent, but dip them in that homemade... More

We ate here twice on our vacation to Daytona Beach and loved it. The setting on the river is amazing. The wildlife and sunsets made our visit even more enjoyable. On our first visit I ordered the Spanish Snapper with garlic mashed potatoes. Each entrée comes with a house salad with granny smith apples and craisins. On our first visit... More

Unexpected great restaurant. Quite crowded when we arrived, but reservations were honored and we were seated quickly. Our servers were funny, helpful and efficient. The food was EXCELLENT. Black and blue tuna came out perfect, cut to the right thickness as it should be. Oyster offered raw, lightly steamed, medium steamed or well done. How many more choices could you... More
