Amazing food

Me and my partner visited this restaurant due to the reviews on trip advisor. It is slightly out of the way but totally worth it. The host was great and brought out a translation book when we could not understand some of the menu items. My partner is pretty fussy with food and our lack of Italian... read more

where to start, we found this place using Tripadvisor as we were looking for a restaurant for us, party of 4 with 2 small children. Based the excellent reviews we were a bit sceptical as the village is off the beaten path and relatively small, but wow what were we surprised by the ethusiastic welcome and service from host Paula... In this delicious and hidden tiny mediaeval town on the way from Grosseto to Scansano there is a truly exceptional place - restaurant with rooms. To start with the food is sensational. We love this region and are used to the excellent food everywhere around here. But, and it's just a little but, it tends to be pretty much the... More

The food in this restaurant was spectacular, yet done in the classic style of the region, there was nothing 'nouvelle' or mannered about it, just delicious ingredients put together with a masterful hand by Paula, the owner and chef who was always at hand to explain and recommend the dishes. Was there every night for dinner during my stay and... More

The owner and the restaurant could not be more welcoming. Our daughter is still a little young for restaurants and gers restless so we ate a little quicker than ideal. The food and choice was excellent with something for everybodies taste, maybe there was too much choice for a small restaurant. The tastes were big the portions are just about... More

located in a romantic small village on top of a mountain. service was always nice, friendly and attentive. wine was very good. outstanding was the primo. ravioli-like pasta with tartufo. the pasta was so delicate and thin-layered that the knife went trough it like air. i say ravioli-like because it wasnt ravioli more two layers pasta with a ricotta/tartufo ball... We had an absolutely delightful evening. The owner, Paola, greeted us at the door. She spoke very little English and we (a group of 8) spoke little Italian. Of the 8 of us, my husband knew enough Italian to help out and what he couldn't translate, Paola did her best with pantomime or making the sounds for the different animals... More
