One of the best meals in France

This meal was probably one of the best we've had on our 2 wk vacation. Even though we were starting to get duck and foie gras overload, we ordered both again as this was our last day in the Dordogne. This meal was standout! The desserts were amazing, especially the walnut cake. The only dessert I... read more

We recently ate here with our five year old son and thoroughly enjoyed it. The menu is heavily focused towards duck dishes which although I don't eat my son and husband love so they were in their element. The setting is nice and the service friendly and relaxed. English menus were available if required. Would definitely return.

This is a beautiful little restaurant near vitrac ..dordogne .. We were a family of 5 ...4 adults. The ambience was excellent and the staff friendly and attentive. However the food was truly superb .. Beautifully presented and superbly cooked ..we are definitely a family of foodies and for all of us ( we had four different mains) to have... More

We enjoyed a beautifully prepared and beautifully presented sliced pork with sauce (actually an apple sauce) and potatoes. We completed our meal with a creme brulee. The atmosphere was wonderful and quiet, our waiter (the owner) was very friendly and our chef (his wife) prepared a tasty meal for us.

A group of ten of us were staying locally and called in for evening dinner. To enable the chef to produce all the food at the same time the menu was reduced to duck (leg or breast), pork and steak. Sure enough it all came at once and all our meals were beautifully cooked and presented. We had a range... More

We ate lunch here yesterday (July 1) and found the food-and-service combination underwhelming. Having eaten at the restaurant a couple of times previously, I suspect that prices are being jacked up because attendance has dropped -- yesterday there were only the two of us; one table of four people; and a single. Our meal ran up to a total of... More

Hello, we are sorry & a bit chocked to read your comment. Indeed, the prices have only be increased of 2€ due to the VAT increase (+3%) and there is nothing to do with the attendance. We thought you liked the bottle of wine as you ordered 18 bottles and we have personnally put the boxes in the trunck of... More

We stopped here late for lunch without a reservation. The host received us in a friendly manner and took good care of us while his wife made our lunch. Fine, hot confit, a lovely cold lentil salad. My wife had a chocolate mousse.

I wrote a good review for this restaurant after we visited last September when we had a wonderful meal. I could not wait to go back but, unfortunately, the restaurant changed hands in January and tonight we had an appalling meal. I went for the same starter which had a very dry tart and burnt toast - what a mistake.... More
