Lunchtime Outing

Family outing including grandchildren for lunch on Easter Saturday. Lovely bottle of pinois gris, fish bites, wedges, and prawns with sauces. Fish bites especially yummy. Bit windy outside but a great spot and great outlook. Well worth a visit.

The very best cafe in the area - great coffee, delicious pizza, attentive staff in beautiful surrounds. Wine is fabulous and if you plan enough in advance, get there early and ask about kayak rental - after a paddle on the river and lake, enjoy a wine and pizza after. Plan even EARLIER in advance, and rent one of the... More

Kuratau is our "safe haven". Will and the team at Floating Rock add that special edge to our "Time Out". A short walk from our holiday house, we know we can get a great coffee; nice but reasonably expensive pizza, and or wine in very friendly surroundings. Always good to catch up with a few locals, or the random holiday... More

We only tried the pizzas but they were amazing. Good selection of pizzas so everyone had one they wanted and the fact they're cooked in the pizza oven next to you is great. A pizza with the Pinos Gris or the Rose is sublime. Will the manager is a great character and you will be so relaxed you won't even... More

Wine tasting with pizza - what a treat for lunch! Never mind about the rest of the day. Had a look through the chalets and wow that are fab! What a retreat - already many of the team were deciding on when to come and treat themselves. We all ended up buying wine, can't buy it in the shops! Drinking... More

We stumbled on this place by chance and the reason it get a high rating is that the owner is a star and the staff are very friendly. We had thin crispy based pizzas made right in front of you in their wood fired pizza oven. The cafe is situated in a small winery and I would urge you to... More

tried two wines from here both were delicious. manager was really helpful, suggested buying a bottle instead of 2 glass in relation to the cost which was more than worth it because I would have brought a bottle after trying. some of the staff could have made a bit better effort.
