As we were at the end of the season many places were closed. However, Argo was open and provided us with great meals two nights in a row. The restaurant is relaxed and welcoming and the staff friendly and efficient.

Excellent food, and real stand out in Whangamata. Well priced for a 'beach restaurant'. Great staff. Good wine options.

Great spot on Ocean Road to view the action of the Beach Hop parade of classic cars. Good service, great entertainment if you enjoy a little dancing music and the food pretty good too.

If your in town this place is worth a visit, the food was great, the fish was the best cooked piece of fish I've ever had. They have a great deck to sit out on a some cool beers on tap. The service was great.

Have had these guys pate at a friends house one night before, thought it was the bomb so brought the girlfriend and her Auckland mates to try and impress. We don't eat out a lot but do enjoy to try new things and this place is by far the only place to come in Whanga if you are wanting a... More

This was a much enjoyable evening shared with friends. We stopped into this restaurant for a meal not realising how busy they would be. They explained that there would be a little wait for a table if we were happy with that. The staff were extremely pleasant and accommodating. They have a great wine list (including our very own favourite... More

We were looking for a restaurant so we could take our elderly in-laws to. They were going to pay. Wasn't sure about this place and wasn't even sure it was going to be open, so we rang through mid afternoon and made a reservation for that evening. It was such a great evening weather wise, so we sat in the... More

Visited Whanga for the weekend and walked past this place on our way to the beach.... Its not in town, so we are sooo excited to have found it. It was really busy on arrival, a little noisy if I had to complain but better than having no atmosphere I guess. We had a group of 5 and everyone raved... More

The food here was spot on, just as good as a quality Auckland restaurant, so much to recommend there. The service was polite and friendly, although we would have appreciated being asked on arrival if we preferred one of the empty tables in the main room rather than one in the bar area (we had a reservation). We are not... More

Good food in good company with a couple we had met before in Nelson. Excellent steak and pork fillet dishes - fab Sauvignon Blanc from Wairapa. Band played music and Lyn danced with everyone
