Fab cafe, right on the beach, perfect week-end coffee spot

After a bracing walk enjoying the fantastic north east coast (and showing it all off to visitors) Crusoes is a great place to stop for coffee and cakes. It is right on the beach, plenty to see including surfers, big boats, people with dogs – all the usual Sunday morning entertainment. Lovely choice... read more

Spent a fab morning at the Longsands beach, made even better by discovering this great cafe. Blends in nicely with scenary, lovely panoramic views of the expansive beach, and has a great vibe about it. Chocolate muffins, good coffee, and a relaxed atmosphere topped it off nicely. One last thing the staff were smiley, attentive, and very helpful. 😀

I really wish I could like this place. It could be a perfect place to relax, eat or drink and enjoy the beach in all weathers. However the poor service, miserable and unhelpful staff, and disgusting cold food choices are a real shame. I've been A few times and each time hoped the last time was a one off. The... More

Crusoes is right at the end of longsands and has panoramic views of the beach. The food is cooked beautifully but is a little pricy. The fish & chips from the restaurant was amazing. It is a popular spot and has both inside and outside dining so there is plenty of space but it does get very busy. Well worth... More

The food is okay. The customer service was terrible! There was 5 staff at the counter, nobody serving, yet myself and another customer waiting at the counter. When my partner paid for food on card, I had to press the machine button and tear off the receipts before the transition expired- as there was nobody watching/ waiting at the machine... More

It might not look like much from the outside, but with its fantastic beachside location, this is the perfect place to sit and catch up with friends. It can be a bit bleak in winter, but the log fire usually keeps things nice and warm. The interior might be a little sparse, but there's always a nice atmosphere. The different... More

Just spent a lovely hour having a delicious coffee and a muffin to dream about. There are many different flavour muffins available and those I have tried really hit the spot. to say they were delicious would do them an injustice, heaven on a plate would be more apt. I have visited before and as usual the staff were friendly... More

Ideal venue for location, parking, coffee, lunch. Staff friendly and variety of seating to take in lovely sea views. Was very busy day I visited and too cold to sit outside so was bit squashed. Nice atmosphere and LOVELY cakes/ scones.

Staff good, seating good, range of food excellent, but they need to get their act together, quiet mid-week visit at 2pm, ....7 cake domes on show only cakes in 2 of them, losing sales ,and customer choice diminished. The one's we had were very nice , but wanted more choice.
