Three friends and I visited the Goose on Sunday for Sunday Lunch. Two of us had different meals and starters all of which were up to a very good high standard. The service was good, as always and friendly. I haven't had sunday lunch here for a while but have to say its a very good meal with good sized... More

Went to the Goose Fat for my wife's party. Table of 19 which I imagine us never easy. Food was excellent and service great. Everyone enjoyed their food and a great atmosphere. Have been here before as a couple and been similarly impressed. Sawbridgeworth is fortunate to have some great places to eat and The Goose Fat is one of... More

Visited with friends on a Saturday evening. Nice staff and the food was delicious. I had the fillet steak, I can honestly say it was the best steak I have ever tasted. Expensive but worth every penny.

Came here for the first time on Sunday for a family lunch. Had heard about the restaurant and that it had a good reoputation and wasn't disappointed. A good value set menu (2 courses for £15, 3 for £20) and a great cocktail menu. 48 hour pork belly for starters (off the a la carte menu) was lovely. Paired with... More

My family frequent the Goose Fat often, and on this occasion I joined them, the bar was very busy and noisy but there was sufficient space and walls between them and the restaurant so made a good lively atmosphere. The food was really delicious and the server was very busy but still able to provide great service! I had to... More

Have reviewed here before, but wanted to write a review about our experience here on Christmas day. I was bit reluctant to spend money eating out on Christmas day, we have always done it at home, but I am so glad we came out. Every single course was good, very tasty and fresh. I particularly enjoyed my fillet of beef... More

Haters everywhere. This restaurant is leagues above any other. Keep up the hard work and soon all the idiotic poor spending 'customers' will stop coming and you'll replace them with wealthy well spending ones. I love it here.

These reviews do make me laugh. We were in on Christmas Day, had lunch as a large party. The review below makes no sense. Talk about Christmas spirit?! Our lunch was perfect. We were all happy. All dishes were cooked really well, the veg selection was excellent. Plenty of variety. If you want more veg, how hard is it to... More

Extremely disappointed by what myself and my family experienced on Christmas Day of all days! The Christmas meal was pricey...at £95 per head, but for that you expect a high quality meal. This is not what we received. Every single course was poor, and the main was an extreme disappointment with hardly any vegetables or potatoes... we were given one... More
