Description: Our food is freshly cooked by talented chefs using seasonal and local ingredients wherever possible. We cook our own breads, grow our own herbs, butcher our meat and fillet our own fish, most of which is straight from the boat.We take pride that our dishes sometimes take longer to cook than other establishments as they are cooked to order. The place is famly-run, relaxed, casual dining in a clean, bright environment. Hope you can visit soon.

This was the first time we had eaten here. The atmosphere was lovely, and the staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. The menu offered a good choice, and my husband had a hard time choosing what to have. Portion sizes were good, none of us had room for desert. We would recommend this lovely place, and will definately... More

I have taken my elderly godmother here on a number of occasions and each time the food and service has been excellent. Nothing has been too much trouble for the owners. The beer is local and the wines are reasonably priced. The food portions are sensible too, so make sure you have room for the puds!

We have eaten here several times. Lunchtimes is less busy but you do need to book. Friday and saturday nights are packed ! Excellent gastro pub food with a slight twist of fancy footwork ! I highly rate the Orange Tree and would recommend it to anyone passing through. Sawbridgeworth might be a small town but pop in to the... More

On Tuesday my wife and I went to the Orange Tree for our fifth meal in three months. As always the welcome from Tom and Sam was warm and welcoming without being over the top....in fact I have to say it is like meeting up with old friends!! Caroline took our drinks order and chatted easily with us with such... More

Hiya "flub66" and thank you for your fantastic feedback. I love the fact that you take time to get to know the staff on first name terms when you eat out - it shows how much you care about the place and in turn I'm sure reflects on the experience you have too. Caroline and Sam will be delighted with... More

Ate here a few weeks ago on a busy friday night. Service was charming and efficient even though there were a couple of big parties in there. Fav dish was the 'mushroom on toast' but everything else we had was tasty and well-cooked. Would definitely go back again... one of the best places to eat in east Herts

Last minute visit, and what a lovely place. Have spent many evenings here in its previous incarnation as The Three Horseshoes Public House, first time as The Orange Tree. Light and airy atmosphere, lovely staff, beautifully cooked and presented food........can't wait to go back again. Thank you

Hi there Rainytom and thank you so much for your fantastic review. It seems a long time since we took over the pub in it's Three Horseshoes persona and changed it's name. We've tried to make it a fresh, clean environment and I'm glad it suits your tastes. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Be sure to check... More

Valentines meal, my partner & I had oysters, fish cakes,Lamb, chocolate fondant. This was the only meal we ate together for 3 days before and 5 days after. Hi I'm Tom the owner you spoke to. Suffice to say I am furious at your review (and the one you posted on another site which is the subject of legal action). You called me three days after the alleged food poisoning saying you were violently ill on Saturday evening (you ate here on Friday evening). I think I was... More

Discovered by chance a few weeks ago, went there for a mid week early dinner. Very good menu, well presented, ample portions. Very relaxed atmosphere, the landlord and his wife were very welcoming. Great to see a log burner actually lit ! Will definitely go back. They have alternating chefs for different themes which is great concept, not the same... More

Couldn't fault the food at all. We had the baked Camembert to start - tasted lovely with fresh focaccia bread and chutneys. I had the pork belly as a main which was cooked to perfection and my partner had the chicken chasseur which was amazing. The chicken was really moist and the whole dish was very tasty (I had to...
