Description: Our food is freshly cooked by talented chefs using seasonal and local ingredients wherever possible. We cook our own breads, grow our own herbs, butcher our meat and fillet our own fish, most of which is straight from the boat.We take pride that our dishes sometimes take longer to cook than other establishments as they are cooked to order. The place is famly-run, relaxed, casual dining in a clean, bright environment. Hope you can visit soon.

I have visited The Orange Tree once before, a while back and was not that impressed. My gripe was that the food did not seem that special and high tables and chairs in the corner made it feel like we were getting bar snacks, not having a special meal. How things change. Gave The Orange Tree another chance and boy... More

Visited The Orange Tree at the weekend for my boyfriends grandmas 85th Birthday. There were 13 of us altogether. The owners were very friendly, accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. I started with olives and bread and tried my boyfriends starter which was chicken with chorizo and corn - it was delicious and I ended up stealing half of... More

The excellent reviews of The Orange Tree are well deserved indeed - without doubt one of the best 'pubs' for food I have ever been in. It might sound odd but it was the negative reviews that grabbed my attention & brought me here! I loved the fact that the owners responded to gripes from whining parents with a sharp... More

We had a lovely meal at the Orange tree last week. Food was excellent. I love the olives as an apertif whenever I eat here which is really strange as I can't stand them anywhere else! Also the choritzo with chestnuts is a must. Had sea bass for main course...gorgeous. Dessert was creme brulee which was also delicious. Waitress very... More

A little expensive, but a lovely family run pub with a great atmosphere and really good food, would visit again.

Hi Sophie, Thank you for taking the time to review. Everything we serve has been produced on the premises by talented chefs using produce sourced from local farms with impeccable credentials so if it comes a tiny bit more expensive than most places I hope that you'll agree that it's worth it. Hope we see you again soon! Best regards,... More

I had a funny feeling we would like this restaurant after reading the trip advisor reviews, particularly the responses from the owner to certain occasional bad reviews. So, how was our experience? It was great and we have rebooked for a party of 6 at Christmas, so that establishes the fact we are new fans!! The selection of food choices... More

Hiya Jswar and thank you so much for taking the time to review. In fact your comments reflect exactly how we feel about our business. We are indeed passionate about the customers experience even though on rare ocassions we can't please everyone. Regarding selection, you have rightly spotted that a 'limited' menu is the product of freshly cooked food. Most... More

I had a lovely birthday lunch here. You can't fault the quality of the food. If I had to criticise one thing then it would be the size of the Yorkshire puddings. I dont understand why restaurants have to make them so large that they cover most of your plate. Please just make them a normal size and give two... More

Went here on a Saturday night in a group of 8 (4 couples) as a catch up friends night out. It was, overall, on of the best meals I have had in a very long time. Started with a duck spring roll type dish which was delectable, followed by the best fish dish I have had in donkey's years (chilli... More

Our first trip to the Orange Tree having read the rave reviews on TripAdvisor. When I rang to book a table I have to say I wasn't overly impressed by the unfriendly tone of voice at the other end of the phone. However, on arriving the staff couldn't be nicer. The service was a little slow, having thought we had... More

Hi Debbie and thank you for your review. It seems all was well apart from the rather excitable group which was indeed a birthday party. 18 months ago we took a decision after similar feedback to make evenings at the Orange Tree adult only and on this ocassion, as we knew the family - who are lovely - very well...
